Spurs 1-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Think you’re missing the point - what I’m saying is that too international players that we all rate in our first team didn’t warn Nunes off and so by implication I think they must be happy with Lage. Jeff Shi was probably the last person to be listened to by Nunes

I think it's a daft point. Why would any footballer tell a player who is quite clearly a huge improvement not to join so that they can continue to play in midfield with Dendoncker? No one would do that.

There's zero chance 'it will be something else' once Raul has had a few games plus a new striker if we're still not scoring goals. He'll have lost most if not all Wolves fans after that.

I've already seen let's judge him after 10 games when the new players are bedded in at least 10 times on twitter.

It'll be something else if we sign a decent striker and we're still shit.

'Oh well it was a tough run of games, we wouldn't expect to win anyway'

'Needs time for everything to bed down'

'Some old goon in the 70s said you should never look at the table until after 10 games'

'May as well wait until the World Cup'

'We played well at Old Trafford last season you know'

Did we pass the ball well yesterday, yes, but then we had a midfield of Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes, of course we will most of the time. Created virtually nothing. May as well have switched the TV off at 1-0. There is no huge sea change.
I don't think it will at all, I don't think anybody particularly likes the guy, and literally nobody wanted him in the first place. I'm probably coming across as his biggest defender and the extent of my support goes as far as the world cup break and us having had 4-6 weeks prior to that playing like a team that can make Europe.

I think it will click and work out well, and we'll be good to watch and winning games - but it wouldn't exactly shock me if we were bumbling along looking toothless in 15th either tbh

It was a good chance only because Nunes has the quality to make it one, IMO. Absolutely ridiculous degree of difficulty to even get it as close as he did.

FWIW, our "best" chance was a 0.09 xG shot by Podence in the 33rd.
And he should've buried it

In fairness, mate, I hope you're right. I don't think you are, but if one of us has to eat crow, I hope it's me.

There's needs to be a positive uplift soon though surely? You can't just say give him till the world cup if we are on 2 points after 10 games.

If he can't do better pretty sharpish with Collins, Guedes, Nunes, a fit Moutinho, Jonny, Semedo and Raul, and a new striker then you might as well get me or Alan to be the manager!

I’d be too worried about what Alan would do about the kit designs that it would distract me from the results
We're finally bringing back the pink and white bars, bitches!

My first signing will be an African winger from Ligue 1 that no one has ever heard of, but don't worry! Whoever he is, he's #BetterThanSako

That Moffi bloke reminded me of Sako.

For all the talk about how we've "changed", we haven't really.

Attacks all going wide rather than offering anything through the middle. No-one to aim at, hardly anyone getting into the box. Resorting to shots from positions where the likelihood of scoring is extremely low.

We keep the ball a bit better than we did last season and we've stopped looking like a disorganised rabble at the back as we did in the final couple of months. Attacking wise though, it's the same. You'll end up getting similar returns as a result, and we're always vulnerable to coming out on the wrong end of fine margins in games because we neither score enough nor even look like doing so. Throw in the considerable handicap of the manager still being completely unable to change the flow of a game mid-match in our favour, be it through subs or tactical changes.

And another stupid comment from a Mixer. Get in the bin with this shit.
i ain’t on the mix never have been reason I don’t post often anymore because this place became like a vacuous circular argument and became unreadable. I withdraw my comment it was condescending and rude , but to be asking for lage to go after three games I just think 10 games this will all be over and we’ll be on the up

Which is fair enough and it isn't just you who mentioned 'get your CV in then'. There's been a few comments like that and it's shit
