Wolves 3 - Sheff Utd 0 verdict thread

Just hope some teams have to go for it, looking to get a goal of their own. Then we might do better

We need to smash a team that shuts up shop rather than winning by the odd goal, so it changes the mind set of managers who think parking the bus is the solution.

We did that with Bolton.

If we score early then it'll happen. Helps when a team leaves Willy Boly totally unmarked six yards out, mind.

There will be other teams who think they can outplay us, Villa and Derby spring to mind, and if they catch us on a bad day they might, but if we have a good day then IMO there is no team in the Championship that can live with us.

Cardiff are the exception. If they are allowed free rein they will try to kick us off the park, and we will need a strong referee to prevent it. Nuno needs to manage us to cope better than the first time we played them, although we have learned a lot as a team since then.

Burton at home could get nasty if we score early and their heads drop. This side deserves a 7 or 8 goal victory this season.

I think you'll be disappointed with how Derby and Villa set up against us. If anything I'd say that Cardiff will be the most likely out of the three to take to the field with the intention of beating us.

Fulham will be the match to watch. They are flying and play attacking, passing football. Should be a great game.

Kicking Jota aside, I don't really hold with complaining how other sides set up against us. As you have pointed out Sheff Utd didn't play badly just couldn't live with us. If you were the manager of a side coming to Molineux you are a lot more likely to watch the Sunderland game and try and do what they did than the Sheff Utd one.

Sheffield united were quite adventurous in their approach and played quite high up the field which suited us perfectly.

I can't imagine any team coming to molineux this season will do anything other than defend deep and in numbers and only commit 2/3/4 players to attack. It might get a bit frustrating if we don't score early

Liked how Brentford tried to play too. With the super ginger ninja at CDM.

Aye. Wouldn't blame anyone for going defensive. Hey, might scrape a 1-0 loss! :D

the park the bus tactic is fucked once we score! Sunderland were lucky we weren't on it at all that day. If they all come and try it we'll win 90% and lose 0%

Sunderland didn't park a bus they parked a whole fookin fleet of them.

OH...got to love the slow mo in this video...the nutmeg by Costa on Basham....yayyyyyyyyyyy

I know there was a debate about the alternative highlights in the Burton thread so I thought that I'd bump this one. I work with a lad who plays in the group playing in background to the highlights. Nice lad, Wolves fan too.

The highlight for me was Doherty's flick with the outside of his right boot to Cavaleiro - he really shouldn't be able to do that!!
