Newcastle 3-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

We don't know what's going on with Lemina or what his mental state is. So it's a little premature to be going in two footed on him.

If he really wants to move away then just sell him and move on asap.
We didn't know with Nunes either.

This could always be said about anyone ever, but given the information we have (especially given how it has happened at other clubs too) it seems fair.

Why?

It's not even as if he has a huge club like City trying to buy him like Nunes did, and he was a cunt with how he behaved.

Lemina was our captain, we brought his brother in, supported him when his dad passed.
The fans loved him and liked him as a man, we are in need as a club, and what does he do? Refuses to play.

He could knuckle down and still get a move, he could stick with us until the summer and still get a move.

But no, he chooses this.

Fuck him, what an absolute wanker.

This is worse than Nunes.
As I said, we're only hearing one side of the story.

The root cause is immaterial tbh, unless he's got a genuine workplace grievance. "Going a bit shit and losing your place" isn't that.

I do think the whole Lemina thing is a bit sepia tinged tbh. Players do it all the time and have done so to try and join us before now - Dia was only a couple of windows ago.

Dawson has done it twice, once refusing to go on a pre season tour to get out of Albion and didn't travel for West Ham's game against us just before we signed him with the same not in the right mental frame of mind line I think - Moyes was critical of Lopetegui for tapping him up. Sa did earlier this season, until the window was closed and got a poorly shoulder just before GON was sacked which suddenly healed when he was gone.

Head's gone was over a decade ago, it's not new or unusual, it does show him in a poor light, but is just where football is at. 95% of the time the 'love the club' badge kissing is performative.

Players "doing it all the time" doesn't make it any less cunty.

My last Wolves hero did it...still love the man though and would have him back from Forest and give him a heroes welcome

It doesn't, but as football fans I think we hold players up to an unrealistic standard. Lemina is in the last 6 months of his contract, plus we have an option. He knows he's not first choice, if he snapped his ACL coming on last night would we have taken that option up knowing he'd be injured for the first half of next season? It's a business decision, I don't like it, but I understand it.

I understand what you're saying. But him coming on and playing well and giving maximum effort gets him an appearance and potentially a performance bonus too, it also makes a move more likely. It makes a new contract more likely too!!

I think most of the examples you give are fair ones, but I expected more from Lemina, especially given he was captain, his brother, his dad etc.

I don't think it's optimism, I think it's logic. Forest and Newcastle are both in club record breaking form.

We have only had Cunha for 45 mins of the last 2 games, and our usually pretty clinical striker hasn't taken his chances.

I tell you what is not optimistic is thinking about how an injury to one of our key players would fuck us.

Of course it would, and so would an injury to Vardy, Pickford or Delap for our rivals, or Salah getting injured, or Palmer for Chelsea.

It's just not worth thinking about or even talking about it.

It's like saying "wouldn't it be awful if the Russians dropped a nuke on the UK."
I think given he didn’t start last night Cunha is carrying some sort of injury so comparing him getting injured with Russians nuking the UK is rather silly. The difference with the other players you mention is that we are much more dependent on Cunha - the drop off when he’s not playing is enormous. No idea who Ipswich’s back up to Delap is but I doubt they’re as reliant on him as we are Cunha, and he isn’t carrying an injury.

We saw last year with both Neto and Cunha that injuries become more likely as the season progresses and we have a chance to do something about it if Fosun are remotely bothered about relegation. The way they persisted with GO makes be doubt they care that much.

Whatever it's called, it doesn't look offside.

Also as I said before, just fucking step Santi you gormless bastard.

Although it's all VVD needed to do for Wood's goal the other night too, its strange how it's totally left the game as it was such a staple of 90s defensive play.
