Wolves 3 - Sheff Utd 0 verdict thread

If it was anyone else who I believed meant the pass straight in to feet then I'd probably prefer Jota's. As it is, Neves'.

Normally when Wolves score I throw my arms in the air and yell "Yeeeesssss!!"

For the first two goals on Saturday I was sort of thrown backwards and found myself going "Ohhhh... Ohhhh..." like some teenage girl having her first orgasm

I think he meant this one, which is absolute gold!

Thank you Sir

Aikiwolf and i went nuts but i thi k.both of us just stood in awe for.a.split second at what we witnessed.
We turned to each other mouth open in amazement we witnessed such a goal

Depends what type of goal you like really. Neves' was great but on a par with other long range hits I've seen before. I don't think I've ever seen a Wolves move culminating in a goal like the Jota one though.

the audacity of Jota not to hit it first time, together with cav knowing the pass was on was sheer brilliance.

Yeah the second goal for me was just wondrous. I must have shown it to 10 people who are fans of other clubs since.

Both goals were amazing, one on an individual level (even though it’s criminal ignoring Coady’s ball to Cav) and one on a team level. I must have watched them fifty times and still want to see them more. Never thought I’d see the likes of either down here.

I keep watching them too :)

yeah, agree about the Coady pass. the Neves goal probably makes me smile more. The Jota goal is more about how good a team we are. to have both them in one half of football is bonkers and brilliant.

The build up to the Neves goal included 2 stupidly great passes from Coady. He had done one to Doherty and the ball worked its way back to him and then he found Ivan.

For the jota goal is it just me that thinks Doherty scuffed the cross, and we were lucky it went to one of our players

Nope. He was doing that style of crossing until Cav and Costa went off. Clearly instructed for the low ball back to the edge of the area

I'd hope so with no striker on. He got lucky IMO but we'll never know

No, a few of us said it on the matchday thread. I think he scuffed it and got lucky that Costa was in the middle to collect.

I don't believe that - I think it was 100% intentional. As Kenny said, it wasn't the first low cross he hit.

Watching the wrong game then as it was Jota who collected it...

I think there is a bit in people looking for things when it comes to Doherty. His crossing isn't great but on Saturday he only put in 1 "proper" cross and we almost scored. Whilst Cav and Costa were on the pitch he never once looked for the cross but a pass and if there wasn't one on, he went back with the ball. That happened in the build up to the Neves goal, he got the ball out wide but no options back to Bennett and the move eventually led to Coady finding Cav on the other side.

I don't know then,on the highlights it looked proper scuffed, but if he was doing it a lot,and I'm not knocking him,I can't comment on his ability I don't go to the matches, only go by the highlights, and he's had some flashes of brilliance this season

If we are being hyper picky, he could have been looking for Cav instead of Jota but it was clear on Saturday his instructions were look for the pass or go back and keep possession

He didn’t hit it cleanly but he was definitely trying to get it where it ended up
