Wolves 3 - Sheff Utd 0 verdict thread

He did but we got lucky as well. Neves put in a challenge that I thought was a foul and a yellow card....ref gave a throw in though.

I thought that too and there was a tackle in the second half that Neves also got away with. The horse-collar tackle on Costa was a wtf moment though as that would've been penalised in the superbowl and yet the ref let play go on.

Yes that was a nailed on yellow but Neves went down like I ton of bricks and hoodwinked the ref and the assistant who was right by it!

Tbf I remember that one and he did catch an arm to the head from the Sheff Utd player. Exaggerated it a bit, mind..

I’d said to my mate just before that tackle “just wait for the Neves yellow card” then he put that tackle in and we both said simultaneously “there it is”. Fortunately got away with it

the red card was reminiscent of Harald Schumacher https://youtu.be/tGq7VcaHoqo?t=13s and not that far from ending the same way. It was diabolical

It's not that bad at all.

The Schumacher one is pure dirt, the France player had already knocked the ball past him before he'd left the ground, that had true intent to do nothing but land one on the opponent as there was no other point in jumping into the challenge at that point.

Yeah Neves should be about to start a 2 game ban - poor decision from the ref. Thankfully.

2 players who impressed me were Costa and MGW. Costa showed a few glimpses of his old self, and in a similar way to the Burton match, I thought the way he interchanged with Jota and Cav was fantastic.

MGW is a huge talent. Doesn't look out of place at all, some brilliant touches, slotted into the midfield effortlessly. Added to the way N'Diaye has grasped his chance in the side due to Saiss' injury, I'm really not too concerned about the inevitable bans for Neves/Saiss. We'd obviously miss Neves but no doubt in my mind that we'd still have more than enough for most teams in this league with MGW and N'Diaye as a pair.

Can’t really afford for Neves to miss the Fulham game. Then we don’t really want him missing the Villa game either.

That grin needs a gif! Calling cyberman!

Well we don't want him to miss any games - he's our best player. My point was that we can win without him and that I trust 2 of N'Diaye, Saiss and MGW to deputise successfully.

Not so sure on MGW as one of the starting CMs yet. I'd like to see him do a Ronan and try out LF/RF but hey, he'll have a job displacing anyone at the mo

Would say Nuno does not agree with you. He is clearly the next in line to play there now we have let Price go off to the States

And I think he'd look fantastic in there too. I don't think Saiss and N'Daiye would be a bad partnership either.

Yet // next in line

(Cue MGW starting next game at CM ha)

Adrian Durham just urged anyone who didn't see our first 2 goals against Sheffield United to look them up as they're 'out of this world ' and went on to say that if we play like that we're definitely going up and will 'royally entertain' in the PL

Adrian Durham has annoyed me for almost a decade, but starting to warm to him this season
