Man Utd 1 v 1 Wolves: The Verdict Thread

Coady and Doherty are unrecognisable to the bang average footballers playing here before Fosun came here. Tremendous credit to Nuno and the coaching staff. They have turned them both into potential international footballers. Incredible

I'm both impressed and proud. A happy little wolfie. Maybe not so little.

What a match!

I'd name Costa as MotM too. Most of our successful attacks came from the right through Costa. Coady and Boly come second. They looked so good today.

Apparently Wolves fans were signing 'Nuno's the special one' at the end.

Yep, this shouldn't actually be forgotten.
They've made great use of their "links" with agents to get that team together on the cheap, and are the only team to stop City winning in the league this year.

From the red cafe forum. Praise indeed

The @BBCMOTD running order: Car/ManC, Bur/Bou, Liv/Sou, Bri/Tot, Lei/Hud, ManU/Wol, Ful/Wat, CP/New. Some great stuff and plenty of belting goals. @BBCOne 10.30

Still only 6th!

Great performance Great result and the arrogance of (some) Mau U fans is typified in this post from http://www.redcafe.net/threads/post-match-vs-wolverhampton-wanderers.441666/page-9

There are some very good players in the youth team.

Give some of them a run out.

Wolves are a good team. But there is no excuse for not winning at home.

feck this. Wolves is a good team. Burnley is a good team. Liverpool is a great team. City is an even greater team. Hove Albion is a good team. Hotspur is a good team. Forget madrid and barcelona.

So which team we should be expected to spank?

We should be spanking wolves at home, no matter what their form or who their players are. It's wolverhampton wanderers ffs

Watch out - Wolves are coming to a stadium near you :)

That really was quite excellent. There aren't many teams outside of the elite that will go to old Trafford and have so many spells of dominance. We definitely created the better chances, and our shape and discipline in that last 15 minutes was excellent.

Side note though, for a side aiming for top 4, United are fucking dogshit. Valencia and Alexis is the most toothless flank in the top half this season, absolutely pathetic. And then shifting fellaini from a DM to target man is the kind of shit you'd expect from pullis. To think of the wages that front three makes (£700k a week?) and they only fashioned one chance between them. Without pogba I genuinely think they'd be with us in that 7-10th area. Jose, Alexis, Valencia, Mata, Fellaini all completely done at the top level. Shocking really!

If we keep nuno and neves in the summer (and it's the latter I'm unconvinced about) then I think we're a very good bet for top 6 next season

My bro is a Utd fan and he is one of the disenchanted ones and has been for a while. His issue with Mouriniho is the vast amount of money spent for completely tepid football. And the fact that in all that they have Fellani and Valencia starting despite big money spent in those areas.

But back on us, 9 points after 6 prem games is a great return when you factor in the opposition. If we can be on 13+ after the next two that would have been a great reintroduction to the league.

Offered me a point before the game I’d have been delighted, still am but bit of a what if tonight looking at how the game played out I thought we should have won it.
Just shows how far we’ve come.

had to watch the match on demand, and what a match it was! very happy to see everyone perform so well against a top team at home. defense outstanding. midfield did great. Jota and Costa are improving their movement with each game (incredible effort from Costa on the goal).

if I had to pick a complaint it was I would've liked Traore/MGW on sooner. Jota especially looked pretty gassed and ran out of steam on a run two at the end. obviously nitpicking though, Nuno smashed it.

Very bizarre match report in the observer, apparently we were dominated and only got a draw as Jose's line about it being our world cup final was correct.

great team performance again. nitpicking, i know, but if only we had a better player in Doc's place we could be awesome. the space he has and the balls he receives we should be slaughtering anybodys left side.

Wife just listening to Conor Coady on MotD:

'oh, i thought he was portuguese'

In the interview I heard Jose ratified his comments by adding that his team should treat this and every game they play, as a WC final. Wolves did, they didn't, and that's why they were punished with a draw.

Big love in on Sunday Supplement this morning. Also dismissing the Portuguese, Mendes etc. narrative. Seems like now we’re in the PL some of them have actually done some research and took note gbg

That's what you get for reading that garbage.
