Southampton 1-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

I mean, it is a remarkably stupid thing to say, as if being a good athlete sets anyone apart at this level. He did go with some actual compliments of skill so hey ho.
but it can do though, moderate skill level + good athleticism = good player.

Being a bad athlete sets plenty apart. You have watched Wolves over a period of years right?!

The idea that an actual, factual, bad athlete could come within three leagues of the Prem seems pretty absurd to me. And if they can, that really doesn’t speak well of the “highest level”, IMO.

Santi Bueno isn't athletic. He gets dominated physically every time. Equally, neither was Conor Coady and he was brilliant for us.

Dunno what else I can say, that's just not at all how I see it. They're both good athletes, not exceptionally so, but to say either of them isn't athletic is just not true in my eyes. And if they're not athletic, then the Prem is clearly not a very good standard, IMV. Which is, of course, a ridiculous thing to think.

Alan I agree with you. I’m just laughing thinking about Diego Costa in a Wolves shirt.

It does not seem to have been mentioned much here , but our record at St Mary's over the last 7/8 years has been remarkable.
They might not be a good team now , but they were decent enough when we first got promoted, but yet we always beat them there .
Have we a better away record ?

We're very very good at Hillsborough, only one defeat in 30+ years I think

We used to be terrible there in the Championship didn't we?

Not really, one loss under Mick, a couple of 0-0s and a win before we went up in 2009

Lost there in the cup in 2003 and also just after promotion a few months later (scandalous penalty award)
