Wolves 0-2 Bournemouth 31/1 Verdict thread.

Turner: Will always have endless respect but realistically was probably two years overdue
Taylor: Not a chance he could have stayed, we'd have gone down, anything else is revisionism
McGhee: Cup run in 98 saved him otherwise he wouldn't have seen that season out. Limped on towards the end of the year
Lee: Have some sympathy with him as he was better than people like to remember and we never gave him any money beyond what we got in sales. But it was dismal towards the end and had to go
Jones: Could have gone 3 or 4 times before he actually did. Bloody dreadful when he went
Hoddle: Should never have lasted beyond his end of the season deal
McCarthy: Will always love the man. But I wanted him gone 3-4 months before he did, even as a huge fan
Solbakken: Untenable on many levels
Saunders: Shouldn't have lasted 3 weeks, the prick
Jackett: Had we not been in the process of being sold (which we didn't know) then shouldn't have seen out 2015/16, absolutely dire
Zenga: You cannot keep a man in his 50s who wears ripped jeans and gets barred from pubs
Lambert: He won the Champions Weague you know. Drivel
Nuno: Wish he were still here now
Lage: If I applied to be CEO of Virgin Media I doubt I'd get a response as I have zero experience whatsoever that qualifies me for that kind of role. Same applies with this fucking twat and the Wolves job
Lopetegui: Made his own position untenable, the gobshite
O'Neil: Again if we were a normal club he'd never have got an interview
Pereira: I quite liked the guy. But he was the Paul Blades of management in terms of sharp downturn in performance. Only it cost us tens of millions of pounds in wasted transfers to find out
A fair assessment. Not one of those sacked deserved more time. I still wonder whether I’ll get to see a Wolves manager do well enough to be poached by a bigger team. In my time watching Wolves I’m up to 27 and not one has moved directly to a supposed bigger club. The prick Shi sacked the one that might have been.

Well the other options at full back are hardly appealing and I think all of us have had enough of the back 5.

At this point I just want him to do something. As I say, we’re down anyway - so you might as well try and do something to entertain the fans.

Santi is slow but I do like him. I’d say he’s been our most consistent defender for some time now.
He looks vaguely ok with legs either side of him and two DMs parked in front, when we enter every game thinking we're probably going to lose and we definitely won't keep a clean sheet. He is a shite centre half in reality. He reminds me of Mark Atkins and that's not a compliment.

Hugo Bueno is appalling at stopping crosses and it's borderline whether Rodrigo is a credible wing back, he's definitely not a right back.

Back four then you’ve probably got to go Wolfe at LB as, despite his massive limitations, he doesn’t look like a complete imposter. Then Mosquera at RB? Even though he’s an absolute liability.

Santi in a back four would be awful. There was one moment late in the second half when Bournemouth broke and one of their forwards ran past him like he wasn’t there. It’s ridiculous we have five CHs and not one of them is suited to playing in a back four. Krejci and Mosquera is probably as close as you’d get to competent but even that’s doing some heavy lifting.

Recent, it's 40 years mate :D

Even outside of us I would disagree. That's the gig. Sort it out or we'll find someone else. I have no truck with the idea that United should have stuck with Amorim for another year or two (for example), they were shit and didn't look like getting any better.
An offseason is enough to make hard judgements. That time is all fitness and tactics with no opposition to muddy it up. Hence even VP being kept too long after our start. Amorím had more than enough time and transfers to produce better; he didn’t.

But frankly, I’ll repeat that if instilling ideas mid-season is that easy, then 99% of managers are unfit. It’s bizarre to me, truly.

I dunno man, in this case to sack Edwards would be, for me, irrational impatience of the highest order. That’s not changing, though, neither my opinion nor that clubs suck shit about it. It’s complete nonsense to me that it’s just a switch a manager can flip.

Forgot about Krejci. I mean, you could play him and Santi together, Wolfe at left back and Yerson at RB and just go full mutant.

I’m just so, so bored of the shape, the tactics, the plan. Definition of madness and all that, but why is RE even setting us up to try and keep it 0-0 every week? We’re on 8 points ffs.

I can sort of buy a Temu Pulis look of:

Mosquera - Agbadou - Krejci - Toti

But it's not something I would ever actively desire or design.

I'm waiting for them to hand Wolves Legend Matt Doherty a new deal for his experience and leadership.

So, seriously, go on: which manager that we’ve sacked mid-season recently would you have kept? I can’t understand it.

None! As said, it’s not about just us. In fact in the main it’s not really about us at all, it seems more a feature of the culture of football there.

I’ve said before that a lot of this sentiment is likely borne out of having no conception at all of pro/rel until I was 20. Different levels of urgency within a single season ay

You can go back even further than that. Other than Nuno, maybe Brian Little (though given Turner's relative success, probably not), definitely back to Ian Greaves. Before that, you're at Stan Cullis.

I'm ok with 5 at the back. I think the problem is adding 2 defensive midfielders to that. IMO we looked better with only 1 of JG and Andre and either Arias or Bellagarde

Thought we were the better team (or least shit) for 30 mins. However the confidence crumbled out of us when they scored, & we never looked like getting back into the game.
Think Bournemouth only had 2 shots on target all game and scored from both?
Sa is a terrible choice for captain.
Neither "wing back" is suitable for that position (nor are any of the replacements tbh).
Hwang & Tolu very meh with no end product. In the team cos they're not JSL.

No way was there 30k there by the way.
