Wolves 2-2 Crystal Palace: Verdict Thread

It's so weird to say, but a draw is the worst possible outcome today. Lose and he's sacked, win and its a much needed 3 points. The draw kicks the can down the road.

Another weird thing to say is, beating Southampton next week creates another issue. I think we will win next week, and they'll keep O'Neil on. Following that we then have

Fulham (a)
Bournemouth (h)
Everton (a)
West Ham (a)

I don't see us winning any of those with O'Neil in charge. We've been told for 3 months to wait until now and the games get easier, those 4 don't look easy at all, and I can only see a couple of points at most.

If O'Neil is given those games, I see us being on a maximum of 8 points from 15 games. Great stuff

To add I was just heading out the exit as Palace had their goal chalked off. Have to say I thought it was a soft call and GON is probably a puff a whistle from losing again.

I hate to say it, but I think the only question now is whether we finish 18th, 19th or 20th.

When every fixture looks tough to get points from you don't belong in the league

It 100% would have done. At 0-1 the crowd were booing, and getting on the managers back. The quick turnaround, and not losing has saved him. Lose today and it would have been toxic at full time
I’m not convinced but hey ho, we’ll never know now.

I'm not backing us to beat anyone right now.

How can you when you know you'll concede at least one every single time? In fact we haven't conceded fewer than 2 in any league game since August.

I'll have a pint of whatever you're knocking back mate 😅
I watch most games week in week.out, As do most my Punters, none of us see us losing any of those.

Our issue will be winning 2.

We need at least 9 points to have a chance of staying up

In reality we may end up with 4 -6

So you watch that nonsense of a defence we have, consistently conceding 2 or more goals a game, and think we're going on a run of 7 unbeaten?

Worst possible result - didnt get 3 points and I backed Palace.

We are an absolute shambles.

The first half played out precisely as the half arsed selection suggested it would. The crowd shouldn’t be booing for him replacing Doyle - that was a belated correction of a poor selection in a game where he got predictably bullied off the ball. They should be booing for every minute of work he’s putting in through the week to destroy any semblance of organisation.

The result really was the worst possible. Wish they’d been awarded what seemed like a fair goal at the end, though I didn’t have a great view. Got back to the car in time to listen to smug Gaz interviewed on the radio, patting himself on the back for his game changing triple substitution and knowingly revealing he has “zero concerns” about his position. Of course he doesn’t, they don’t care we’re going down.

You’ve got to see us play to fully comprehend how poorly managed we are. It’s staggering.

Couldn’t have been a more depressing trip.

What a rabble.

Decent day for the hedgehog information bulletins on the big screen though. Looks like we’ll win that trophy. Given the number of pricks running our club though, it should never have been in doubt.

Thing is, if we sack him tonight who are we realistically going to appoint in a couple of days that will make any difference to the Southampton game? He'll have no time or prep with the team whatsoever.

Shi will hope for a win next week and then pull the trigger if we don't get it.
Moyes. Simple.

Yep. Bizarre feeling almost wanting to root against us. Im not quite that far gone and enjoyed the goals, but we also just bleed further every additional game he’s in charge. Won’t do us much good when it’s week 32 staring down 10 points. Kind of a maddening situation as a fan.
