Tottenham 2-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

There goes both our first choice CB and back up LB then.

Should sign a new Sporting Director while we're at it
There's a good chance the current one's hands were tied.

A new Executive Chairman would be my choice, although Hobbs does look a cunt too.

Under Gon we had become a joke club and we had no bottle and nobody was worried about playing us. Vitor has brought back confidence and fight. Clubs now know that we aren't a pushover. We have got our club back.

Forster is expecting either a low shot or a pull back. He will be setting himself for that but Larsen has hit it before he has even got himself ready and hence you get that arm swing as the ball flies into the goal.

You can see this at 0.08 seconds when he first comes into view on the clip, actually got a pretty perfect angle and started his stance for the next phase of action he needs to make, but has either started to predict or prepare to move for what you say rather than the near post shot, as the frames after that he has actually spotted the quick shot but can't get his lower half weight to adjust.

It's great striker instincts to hit it like that.

Not watched MOTD but wonder if Hart is on and if they discuss it with him, actually become a fan of his as a result of his appearances on there.

Very satisfied with a point against Spurs - they may have had a weakened defence but their midfield/attack is one of the best in the league.

Amazing to think our record away against Spurs in the last 7 seasons in the PL is Won 4, Drew 1 and Lost 2. After suffering so many painful losses to Spurs in key matches in the 70s and early 80s it is very pleasing.

Lovely first goal by Hwang - jeez he's frustrating as all hell but he can finish. Nice to see a training ground free kick routine work so well.

As for the penalty - bloody hell - Andre was fucking fouled by Johnson who fell over after standing on Andre's left foot. Still a fine penalty save by Sa although Son did hit it at the right height for a goalkeeper to save.

After going down 2-1 at half-time to a late Spurs goal we'd have collapsed in the 2nd half under GON (especially with Cunha off injured) but in the 2nd half the team showed grit and were no pushovers albeit not really creating too much until Larsen's late equalising strike.

Been quite impressed with Larsen - he's not at Raul level, but he's by far the best no. 9 striker we've signed in 6 years. I would bloody well expect we make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

7 pts in the first 3 games under Vitor - gotta be extremely pleased with that. Under the previous muppet, the best we would have hoped for would have been 2 pts whilst losing all 3 would have been a strong possibility.

Sterner tests lay ahead in the league with Forest (H), Newcastle (A), Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H), Villa (H) and Liverpool (A) - plus a FA Cup tie at Bristol City.

Without Cunha it's going to be very tough but I feel we now have a team that is no longer an easy beat, assuming also we bring a CH (at least) as early as possible in January, I certainly think we can get something from all our home games so I wouldn't be writing off our chances in these games yet.

If we can get to mid-February and still have noses in front of the bottom 3 then I'be be extremely confident we can ensure safety for this season, especially as Cunha will be back either or both from injury and suspension (unless that twat Shi can't resist selling him in January).

Vitor on Hwang's set piece goal:

It was the space that we had analysed from this team and we saw they concede this space, and we tried in the training and in the game. Sometimes we work a lot at something in training and it's not possible in the game, but today it was like a laboratory goal.

“We had two assistants directly studying the set-plays and they proposed the movement and they proposed the space – they do this every match, and this is their work. They asked me if I agree with the space, and I said to them, ‘I believe it can work’.”

Vitor on Hwang's set piece goal:
I like how he tells us what he's done on the training ground (after the event).
Made me laugh yesterday talking about Sa, "made a great save from the penalty then he tried to get me a heart attack". We'd obviously expect him to know what our players weaknesses are but it's good to hear him mention it, albeit in a jokey way.

We all know Fosun are the major problem here and you could say Shi's hands are tied too in that respect (doesn't stop him being a patronising, interfering, no-nothing twat)

But until we get new owners, the management (both coaching and senior) need scrutiny and accountability also. You can still do a good job within strict parameters.

I wouldn't mind if Hobbs was a quiet figure in the background but he's bolshy and arrogant and can get to fuck as much as GON and Jeff

As 'Sporting Director' he would give a more professional impression if he started a New Year fitness campaign starting with himself.

Larsen is already on par or even ahead of Raul at the same stage goals wise at least isn't he? Don't get the criticism he gets from some Wolves fans (not on here).

People that are criticising him have absolutely so clue what they’re on about.

He’s a traditional centre forward who needs service and his record so far is excellent in this side.

Imagine how many he’d get if we had wingers who could beat their man, and the odd cross into the box to get on the end of.

Yeah I agree. I'd like him to have a better first touch and be a bit stronger for a big guy but if he was, he'd be playing for a much bigger club. I'm very happy with him, he's made such a difference to our attacking play.
