Brighton 3-3 Wolves: Verdict Thread

What suggesting Nuno is like Nero? Saying it’s the end of the line for Nuno is a valid opinion, why not just be open about it.
I didn't suggest Nuno is like Nero, you muppet, I suggested the fans saying everything is fine and defend the team without fail while the performances continue to be below par are the ones acting like Nero. Jesus.

Genuinely no idea what you are waffling about now.

We’re just to up down performance wise at the moment to have any hope of challenging for Europe again plus to many sides above playing more consistently.
can’t be denied we’ve shown poor levels of character in certain games this season West Ham, Liverpool and tonight, plus making a habit of conceding late goals which is a poor trait in any side.

One of the big problems is we are changing the team on a game by game basis. We never used to do this. I get we are threadbare due to injuries, but last time out the team picked played really well. I can't see why we changed that, at least for a half. It's a combination of factors. Injuries, kids who haven't had much experience, covid, tiredness, maybe even the cold weather affecting the fair weather players, no fans, Nuno hasn't got his head on etc. I could add in earthquake, flood, tux didn't come back from the cleaners, locusts, didn't have the taxi fare in there to to lighten the mood too.
No doubt we have great players. They need to get their collective heads on all at the same time. We need a striker tomorrow morning, but like others have said it's not just a striker needed. It's the team playing to their abilty in the right formation.
IMO Nuno is totally the right man. He just needs a reset i think.
And we need to be patient, but that is hard after 2 x 7th place finishes and the Europa league. Maybe we're expecting too much. I don't know, apart from tonight pissed me off massively, like i nearly threw my dinner at the computer after the 3rd went in!

I guess for us the only thing in our favour are SU and WBA are dogshit, and it'll be one other in the tank. Down to 13th now with Arsenal looking like giving the shit a hiding.

I do think the two-week break has come at a good time: back on the training pitch and back to basics and (hopefully) back to a starting eleven including Dendoncker/Boly/Podence at the very least.

As I've said above: we do play 15-20 minutes of some excellent stuff, but consistency is key and we don't have it right now, and our game management is very poor - classic for a team playing so many youngsters.

I don't think that Dire ever said that Nuno was like Nero. What he was saying is some supporters are like said Nero and believe that everything is fine with the team and selections.
May I say I want to know what we are supposed to be evolving into.

I thought the first 45 minutes was exactly what we are evolving into, especially with a fit Raul up top.

RB. He can play both but remember reading somewhere that RB was his favourite.
If it's his favorite, his managers everywhere have ignored it. He's been predominantly left sided going back to his Celta Vigo days, despite being right footed.

As were the Arsenal and Chelsea games, we were excellent against United too and weren't particularly awful against Villa. As Nuno says, it is certain decisions in matches that are costing us.

In Nuno's interview he highlighted the problem as in the 46 min. And i have to agree a little, as we raised the white flag right then. The little things affect games, but it seems we get a lot of those little things recently. It's been since lockdown for me. Nuno also says the solutions are within the team, not the transfer market. Unless Raul is fit to play next week i don't agree...

First half we were the better side and fully deserved the lead we had. We looked comfortable on the ball and dangerous going forward - exactly what most people have been crying out for. Yes Brighton had a couple of chances first half, but that is always going to happen.

Second half was suicidal. Concede a penalty after 12 seconds or whatever it was and give them a route back into the game. We then stopped doing everything we had done well in the first half, and probably got away with a point in the end.

What I would say is, that while we are all disappointed by another poor result, there are thing as to remember. We are evolving as a side with a new formation, and doing it with young players. There were 6 genuine first team options missing tonight. Take Kane, Son, Hojberg, Alderweireld, Reguilon and Davies away from Spurs and let me know how they get on.

We arent going to get relegated, can we stop that talk, its nonsense. Neither are we likely to trouble the European spots unless we go cash crazy in January.

I think the "solutions in the team" is a nod towards players learning from their mistakes.
