Brighton 3-3 Wolves: Verdict Thread

I think it is pretty much the same issue I pointed out during the game.

The squad is too filled with youngsters. Which might work at some games but not every game. I do think we require additional experience throughout the sectors. Saying this, we also have to add that we have been very unlucky this year, with a lot of our players being out for extended periods of time. We have plenty of time to turn this bad phase around and finish in a comfortable place, but Fosun might have to open the purse and nag a couple of good deals in this window.

I don’t know what games you have been watching but awaiting the next disaster from Moutinho has become the default position for me. Sell him in January please - he did well for us but is clearly past it.
Name them

Clearly different ones to you.

I'm sure he's had better seasons but I certainly haven't been waiting for him to mess up. He's still a very good player.

Ruddy could not be worse.
As Ruddy was an England keeper I struggle to understand why virtually everyone on this forum thinks he is useless. Patricio is hardly giving us any confidence with his repeated failings. & I am not saying Ruddy is the answer either. But we clearly need a better keeper in order to progress or Rui learns to command his box.

Just saw the Moutinho penalty. Stupid, and not what you'd expect from a guy with his experience. That doesn't make him shit though. He's one of our best players. But it's that kind of mistake that has been fucking us for a few games. Maybe part of it is just shit luck too. I remember looking at the bench a few games ago (before the injuries) and thinking how strong it was. Now it's the academy bench, which shows where we are at the moment.

Not sure 3 at the back has been that solid defensively this season and for most of the games we played 3 at the back we've created very little going forward.
Not saying we can't go back to that and be successful but it ain't necessarily that simple

You think Moutinho, one of Portugal's most capped players ever, is now past it so why bring up Ruddy's previous England involvement as some sort of defence of his ability now, many years since his last international involvement?

He has been dangling out his leg for some time now. Sent off when we had a chance to respond to Villa. When did he last score or deliver a meaningful free kick?

A couple of games ago he was catching everything. Maybe it's part of the lack of confidence the whole team seems to have when something goes against them. Like "oh no here we go again" mentality.

while I agree, we're hardly a bastion of attacking prowess in a 4

tbf we've never loved him for his free kicks. lol.

I haven't forgiven him for Villa away in the league cup, when he dived in slow motion over the top of an easy shot on target.

Yes that is true. But people seem to assume that because he is a Portugese national he is beyond criticism. The howler to let in Giroud’s shot is forgiven - if Alisson did that the world would cave in! I struggle to remember a save that Rui has made that was truly world class.

Nuno: "I'm disappointed with me, with everybody. We must do better as a team. We must look to ourselves and find the answers."

First time i've seen him blame himself.

Felt sorry for Silva again tonight, he was poor but he'd cope ok if we had the rest of our first team available, the whole team second half was poor, Traore our best hope. We need a decent experienced striker asap and keep Fabio for sub appearances.
I don't think he would. He's not sharp enough or strong enough yet.

I think keeping him here and playing him is detrimental to his development right now.

He's clearly talented but just not ready.

I have not forgiven Rui for letting in Giroud’s shot hit straight at him.
