Both of our full-backs were 19, Fabio 18.

What is scary about them is that, apart from RAN's decision making from time to time you wouldn't tell. They don't look the slightest bit out of place. Vitinha and Fabio very rarely make the wrong decision.

RAN’s decision-making, discipline and composure has come on massively in the last month or so.

Nah, the mechanics you're alluding to don't work like that. Leaning back means absolutely nothing when striking a football, it's pseudoscience made up by commentators and pundits who don't understand biomechanics.

It was a sitter and that's why he was so upset.

I really like MGW.
It was interesting his comment after about how he had time with the second to compose himself and pick his spot, something I think he recognised did not happen the first time.

He got a bit lucky with the second as he struck that first time too but the ball didn't go anywhere as two players blocked it.

Took his time with the finish though, placing it beautifully.

i was more interested in mgw explaining in his interview having an extremely positive relationship with Nuno. Perhaps the writing isn't as on the wall for him as others (including myself) have thought. Which is a positive, because personally I really believe he offers something to the squad.

I have to say that I deliberately went and read the match thread yesterday pm, as I knew the thread would be filled with pelters and abuse for morgan, immediately followed by jubilation at his goal. I wasn't disappointed!

Surely the angle of your torso will naturally affect the swing of your leg? The further back you lean the harder it must be to kick a football parallel along the ground as your foot will naturally lift a little higher off the ground. If you detect this via your balance centres and over-compensate then you could easily strike the ball too low and lift it too high.

At least that's the way I think of it. I'm happy to be proven wrong though.

Doesn't really matter where the body is leaning, hit that part and it goes up.

If MGW's left foot is 6 inches further forward he hits the middle of the ball and it goes in.

Watched the bulk of the match last night once the little ones were in bed. Fast forwarded through chunks of the first half!

I was surprised by how much space Hoever was allowed to have in the second half (difficult with 10 men, I suppose), but I was also frustrated in equal measure with his delivery. Also, what was the deal with our short corners? They were not working - were being openly mocked by Mowbray & Warnock on commentary (why does Mowbray say "Wolverhampton" like such a freak?) - and they were providing zero threat. Sack them off! I'd rather RAN came across when we had a corner on the right and whipped it in with his left foot. Moutinho playing it short to Hoever and then knocking it back and forth before Hoever hooks it in to the first man was extremely irritating.

I thought RAN played really well, despite being knocked off the ball defensively a couple of times. Vitinha was quiet but that's ok, because he had the quality in the areas that we needed, resulting in both of our goals. He doesn't need to stand out week after week, so long as he keeps putting those quality passes in to the right places. Good to see him getting a little run and I hope he starts the remaining games now.

Traore clearly made a difference, as did their sending off. Not sure if we'd have won that game if they'd kept 11 on the pitch, because they had to make some obvious changes that allowed us more of the ball in the wide areas. Adama up against Burn is only going to end one way!

Fabio did well and seems to be growing week in week out. So despite the obvious failings of WJ, at least he has relieved Fabio of some pressure and allowed him to learn behind the scenes rather than in the spotlight of the PL. I think we've got some player on our hands there, so good on him.

It was clear we had decided their height v ours made standard corners pointless to us, so going for the short pass and create space for a cross that we would have more of a chance of attacking. Issue was though, we were bastard dreadful at getting a cross in (wasn't just for corners either). So idea fine, execution dreadful.

The way we crossed yesterday, if we had decided to go for a standard corner we would be on here today moaning our corners never beat the first man and maybe we should have tried some short ones instead...

Obviously we can't say for certain we would have won without the sending off but the reason for the red was we were all over them and pushing hard for a goal, think we would have at least got a draw anyway

Gibbs- White impressed me the way he didnt let his head drop after missing that sitter. The joy on his face said it all when he got the winner. You wont get a better confidence booster than that. Happy days.

There was an angle shown from directly behind the goal and it's a good job his first shot was blocked (allowing him to curl in the winner) because it was going miles wide!

Forgot to mention MGW. He played well, I thought. Pleased he got his goal and it would be nice if Nuno gave him the remaining games too.
