Wolves 1-0 West Ham: Verdict Thread

I’d be giving him (Semedo) a 2 year deal on the same wages. If we want to move away from targeting 17th place each season, we’ll need his quality and strengthen other areas. We’d pay at least £10m for a downgrade.

My West Ham pal at work singled out RAN & Joao Gomes for “play acting” and “going down too easy”. It’s what football fans do. And to be honest, we probably did overcelebrate in their view - but being Wolves fans, we understand that this is a culmination of where we’ve come from with Gaz, Vítor’s short journey - and that result more or less guaranteeing our safety. We had to properly dig in & it was a highly emotional atmosphere. I can quite easily see why it would have put their noses out of joint, but I also remember Bowen acting the cock in the game v them earlier in the season - plus last night alone they were attempting the dark arts throughout.

As someone said last night, they can’t have their cake and eat it too. Fuck ‘em, I say. And we might actually catch them up now, which would be glorious.

Has it been mentioned on here that Vitor & one of his background team have a touchline ban at the weekend?

Fuck em, I'm not having this 'over celebrating' bollocks, large chunks of being a football fan can be a bit grim, if you win a game, especially in the season we've had, celebrate as much as you want.

Although he scares me in possession sometimes, his pass makes the first goal. Direct and aggressive.

JSL is 3 behind Rauls best ever premier league haul FWIW. No mean feat given are season. Reason to be optimistic
Plus how many penalties for Raul (probably not many)

The celebrating is justified considering what we have been through this season. They haven`t had it so good either, but serves them right for employing Lop.

If we are staying with this formation then I think it's time to move on. We aren't going to score many from midfield with Andre and Gomes so we need more output from our wing backs. As we look pretty solid we can afford to play someone whose attacking side is his strength as long as his defending isn't a liability. That man could be Rodrigo.

Sounds like you're describing Doc......

Maybe 7 years ago but I’m not sure I’d want to go into the season with 33yo Matt Doherty being our first choice RWB to be up and down the pitch and be responsible for our attacking output down that side.

I wasn't entirely serious.

He's been excellent at RCB anyway, offers us good balance, especially with the odd forays he offers like last night, should have got an assist if SL could have finished a simple chance.

A bit lucky with the penalty I thought though.

Ferguson was shit wasn't he?
Yeah I'm not convinced he is the prospect people once thought he was, then again he is only 20 years old coming off the back of a fairly big injury but he probably needs to drop back into the Championship for a year and get 40+ games under his belt.

Probably his best performance since he returned last night, thought he played very well. I think it helped that the left hand side of the West Ham attack/defence were clearly their weakest area, particularly the first half with Guilherme and Cresswell, but you can only play what is in front of you.

I'm not sure I would want him to be a starting member of the team for 30+ games next season but he should see out the last year of his contract as an important squad member at the very least.

I have no idea how Paqueta avoided a yellow card.
whilst at the game we counted 4 "tackles" worthy of a yellow (only seen in real time mind). Yet harrington, the fucker booked andre (for what?) and sa?

Wolves are proper franchise. No English players, let alone any local academy kids. Just a bunch of Brazilians and Portuguese and Doherty. Must be depressing.

Are they still Mendes' pet club?

They bought one of our "English kids" off us for 40mill. Then there's MGW.

Can see why other clubs would think like this though, especially the World Cup Winners that are West Ham.
