Things that make you SAD thread.

Thanks for your words Paddy.

I'm off for a wine, or 2 or 12!

Sorry to hear that PPB. Look after each other. Celebrate the life.

thats some awful news, wouldnt wanna that news myself but i know its gonna happen..great to see you back at the forum despite that news

Thank you freddeno and leeds for your kind words and thoughts.

Today we will be pouring an extra glass at the Christmas table and celebrating Tommy's life. Not sure how one of Mr PPB's presents is gonna go down this morning. It's 3 lovely photos of his Dad enlarged in a frame. Not sure whether they will upset him even more :(. Think I may hide it for another day.

Anyway, enjoy the day folks. Hope you all get to open something nice, eat something tasty, and drink something special.

My condolences Pitt for this news.

Photo's today probably not best but in time they will become treasured as the visual images I have of my parents

Thanks Parkin.

Read your comment and then hid them away for another appropriate time.

Good call. Next Christmas is probably ideal.

I think you are right Bear.

Never realised it took so long for the funeral over there. Is it because it's Christmas time, or does it usually take weeks? Here, say you die on a Monday, by Wednesday you are buried. The long wait from death to funeral makes it even worse for family members I think :(

My grandad died just before christmas one year, and my dad is an only child. Obviously they were very close.
For his christmas present I got him 2 old photo's blown up in nice frames. He loved them. We had them on the table where grandad would have sat.

That whole christmas was very subdued, but he loved the photo's.

I think that's a lovely ldea,

I didn't want to take the risk in the end, as it could have gone either way. I always put the photo of my Dad by the Christmas tree on Christmas Day, and was going to do the same with Tommys photos. Will definitely do it next year.

Spending Boxing Day in hospital with your mum.

My mum was in hospital but was allowed home on the 23rd. Hope your mum gets well soon, and gets to go home soon too NWW.

I seem to have spent a bit of time on this thread this Christmas. I'm off to try to think happy thoughts.
