Wolves 0-1 Arsenal: Verdict Thread

This is the thing make a decision against a big club and you get endless abuse.
Must play massively into the subconscious mind of some refs.

Yep Cunha is bottom of the list of problems, he’s one of few not hiding, he’s a quality player playing with players not good enough and it shows up massively.
Re; the bit in bold - I’m sorry, but this genuinely made me laugh out loud. If you don’t think the Cunha situation is a problem, I’m lost for words.

Just finished listening to the latest episode of Wolves Fancast and they went in on him double footed. Probably went too far. But essentially saying Cunha’s attitude sucks, is far more noticeable in the ground than on tv. Said he literally turned his back on teammates at times, throwing his arms around at Hwang etc. Said his teammates and his club need him, and us the fans - we need him, but he’s sulking and obviously wants out.

Personally I think we need him to do a Sako at this point. He’s coming across sulking & moody at the moment, but as soon as that window shuts he knuckles down and gets back to his best, because we need him.

"Back the team or sell the club" "idc about Jeff Shi..." And a minor round of "we want fosun out".
We need to re-word Man Utd's chant
"Just like the Glazers, Jim Ratcliffe's a c***t"

It's not an argument, Guedes is the worst signing in the entire 148 year history of the club. It's one person pretending he offers pace and energy when he offers neither.
Before your time mate - but I give you Alan Boswell and Mark Lazerous - closely followed by Rob Hindmarch

That must be saying something because his attitude is pretty apparently on tv.

Stancliffe was worse than Rob Hindmarch, Simon Coleman was only on loan but shocking too.

They're all worse than Guedes for me too, despite the fee.

At least Guedes has scored 7 goals and got 5 (?) assists for us.

Did they mess up our finances for years like Guedes has?

Coleman wasn't even here for a month.

Of course they're objectively worse footballers, like 100+ others. The combination of ridiculous fee/wages, crap record, didn't want to come, can't get rid of him and generally dreadful performances/attitude takes some beating.

In terms of obvious stupidity before a ball was kicked you could have Robert Taylor, or the returns of Paul Jones and Leon Clarke.

Kalac for me, paid for him but he never even became our player

The FA screwing us over there, we never really had a proper deal in place, think they just felt sorry for Leicester as they had two managers nicked inside a year or so and there was nothing in place at the time to protect clubs.

In fact we had more of a solid agreement for Carlos Kameni who also never played for us.

A stronger case would be Corica given we could have had Alex Rae for the same money, five and a half years before we actually signed him.

Kevin Ashley another nomination. Not the worst footballer but £500k in 1990 for a second tier club was enormous money. In relative terms he was probably worth about 20% of what we paid.

Robert Taylor. The perfect foil to play alongside Sami Al-Jaber :)

How about Steve Claridge? Objectively worse, or just a roll of the dice that didn't come off but probably didn't break the bank?

Claridge should have worked, he was very good for everyone else.

Another that didn't want to come, he wanted to stay at Portsmouth and we outbid them. We also didn't need him as we already had loads of excellent strikers.

Didn't cost us anything in the grand scheme of things, we more or less got our money back.

God, Carlos Kameni. The guy Onana thinks he is.

Still good for massive clanger now and again tbf.

Not sure if it was when he signed for us but wasn’t there a story that he kept moving to clear gambling debts?

Load of crap I reckon, he didn't move that much. Was at Blues and Leicester for ages and then Pompey and Millwall after

That's an outstanding point re Guedes in that it screwed our finances, along with Fabio IMO.

In the same period we also bought Nunes for £38M but somehow we managed to offload him to Man City for £53M.

With Fosun it hasn't been the lack of spend its who they've spent it on and when (except for the first couple of years under Nuno).
