Swansea (H) FA cup build up

Maybe as an alternative to shoehorning players into positions they can't play, we might just revert to a slightly different formation tomorrow? More of a 4-3-3/4-5-1?

I'd be quite excited to see Simpson given a chance. There is absolutely no reason why as I have no real idea about how ready he would be or if he's even anywhere near good enough but he's still young and it is a position he might succeed in the with the help of Nuno. I think Marshall is a good footballer but I can't ever seeing him suit our way of playing (formation wise) and he isn't really an attacking wing-back, not to say he isn't capable at all, but I doubt he'll be here long-term whereas Simpson, potentially, could be should he show some capability in a game like the one against Swansea.

He isn't good enough and never will be, he can't get a game for a Conference North side who we effectively own and have implanted our own manager. If he does play tomorrow, all it shows is Nuno doesn't overly care about the result.

Simpson is shite. Looked completely out of his depth in pre season.

Fair point, I know very little about him so will go with that. I still don't really want to see Marshall there. However, that is just me and he could end up being a good right-back for us given Nuno's help also. I just can't see it tho.

He'll play Doherty.

It's a week until our next fixture, we are playing PL opponents and we'll clearly be bringing in cover/competition in the next week or two in that position.

He didn't look great pre season let's be honest and if you are struggling to get a game for Telford it doesn't look good. That said if he gets the chance tomorrow it's up to him to show what he can do, it's him or Buur and Buur didn't look like being close to ready either.

More than anything it shows how much we need someone to cover that spot if Doc got injured we would have some troubles.

What I would have really liked to see tomorrow is Ruben Neves (15.8M) versus Sam Clucas (16.5M) in the middle of the park, and who wins that particular battle. Well, actually, I think I know who would win that battle - and it wouldn't be the kid from Lincolnshire.

Is that really how much they paid for Clucas. Fuck me, no wonder they are in the trouble they are dropping £16.5m on him

I know - the only reason anybody raised an eyebrow at the fee for Neves was because it was the Championship. If that had been the Premier, they would have been saying what a bargain we'd got.

I like Clucas as a player and think he'd work really well alongside Neves but the PL inflation is ridiculous.

Quite surprised how many folks think this match is gonna be easy.
Before the "heroic" City match we struggled against Rovers and Yeovil.

And all though not his biggest fan, i can see a decent player in Marshall.
If he lost some timber and upped his fitness he could be an asset for someone (not us though)

And before the City match we beat Southampton at their place? And they played several first team players whereas we had changed our whole team. Even Cav was behind Bright at that point.

Swansea fans seem to think they are going to play quite a few kids. I can see why we are favourites.

Plus we'll have double the crowd we normally get for an unglamourous cup tie so the atmosphere won't be as flat, which always I feel always contributes to the flat performance.

Crowd was flat(ish) v brentford. Responded to the team in the 2nd half, and I felt the players responded to the crowd waking up too.

He hasn't found a new club yet has he? Wonder where he will rock up.

I follow him on instagram and he honestly seems pretty content being a family man at the moment (of course that's not nearly the full picture). Although he "likes" Wolves related stuff all the time.

Crowd has been flat for a few matches now for me...they seem too expectant.

We should be doing fucking conga's and enjoying this while it's here.
