Reading (H) build up

3 singles? If Villa win you lose £7, if Villa and Cardiff win you gain £7. I'd Reading win $#@! my life

If Villa win return will be £8.08 so +£3.08
Cardiff win return £16.00 +£11.00
Reading win return £50.00 +£45.00

Immaterial Dear Watson = I hope I lose £15.00!

Probably be 3 draws. But I'd take that.

I've had trebles on Cardiff/Villa/Fulham last Tuesday and on Saturday. I've also got a Cardiff/Villa double tonight and a treble on Cardiff/Villa/Fulham at the weekend.

Winning last Tuesday and Saturday didn't improve my mood and I'm hoping that the winning run will soon end.

Hope so too!

To be fair, we kinda got away with it at Reading, they had quite a lot of possession 2nd half and no one could have moaned at a draw but we got the killer breakaway goal...although there were a few goal mouth scrambles.

Burton seem to prefer playing away apparently (bloke at work flits in and out with them) they play wingbacks that will love our pitch but i doubt they will have that quality in the final third to seriously trouble us.

Why would they love our pitch? All pitches are a uniform size roughly now. Just checking ours versus theres it seems theres is actually a yard wider based on what I read!

Nothing about the size, its the quality of the pitch.

I'd replace Batth & N'Diaye with Bennett & Saiss. Up front I'd go back to Costa/Cav/Jota unless Nuno wants to rest one of Cav or Jota for Afobe or MGW.

I'd also like to see Norris start this game and the Burton game but it is unlikely Ruddy will be dropped.

Apparently??? (scanning the darkside) 4 changes Bennett/Saiss/Costa/Afobe for Batth/N'Diaye/Cav/Bonatini

Slight surprise at Costa if that’s true but that’s not too bad, Cav can impact off the bench and quite frankly any of our attacking options should be good enough to beat Reading.

Dropping Cav would be an odd one. Maybe we'll play Afobe as a more orthodox striker with Costa playing as more of a winger, which he seems better at doing anyway.

I personally wouldn't drop Cav as he's one of our main attacking threats, but he seems to only last about 60 minutes anyway and we played on Saturday and play yet again this coming Saturday so maybe Nuno is trying to get the most out of the squad? As Carrotdude says, any of our attacking options should be good enough tonight.

Disappointed not to see Norris given a chance. Increasingly unimpressed by Ruddy

We did benefit from Cav coming off the bench not that long ago.
Bonatini must be on the bench cos his agency have done the usual "come on wolves" social mejah guff.

How do Reading play?...pack the middle?
Their record away from home is midtable looking at it.

Their defence has been taking pelters just lately, even off Stam himself.

Hopefully we can get a couple of early goals and secure 3pts..

I don't think there was much he could have done on Saturday TBH.

Not really no, but if I'm being hyper critical (and i am, as i am worried about him) he could have been stronger on the first? Could he have been busting through the ruck to claim the ball?

On Chester's whilst it was a good finish, Ruddy was very flat footed.

3rd, he got beaten at his near post.

4th, he got beaten at his near post, but it was hit very early.

I would have brought Norris in after the Norwich game personally, but i can appreciate that this is a position that is very difficult to change as it can effect the balance, but i don't think our defenders trust him any more.

I wasn't impressed with Ruddy against Villa either, tbh. Did think he was looking flat-footed for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th goals (the 4th in particular he just sort of... watched angrily go by, almost?). The defence as a whole, including him, seemed to have basically given up by the 4th.

Another vote for Norris here.

Be disappointed if he continues to be overlooked.

It's not the goals he's conceding as such, it's the way he's lost the command of his box and look of calmness and authority that's the big worry. I would imagine he's a big character in the dressing room so Nuno needs to judge whether dropping him would damage team unity at a time that we need it more than ever. The goals he's conceded lately, Norwich apart, are the type Deutsch used to call Ikeme out on, not his fault individually, but you'd hope a top class keeper would be saving some of them.

Have a feeling tonight will be very tense don’t care how we win as long as we do.

Thing is, it's only tense if WE make it tense.
7 points clear, let's back the team, sing our heads off and be positive.

Crowd will be hugely important tonight, lets not forget that as wonderfully talented some of these guys are they are still in their early 20's and human. An early goal would be wonderful, and we could do with a few goals to get our goal difference back up.

I think we will win tonight 2-1 with Cav and Afobe scoring.

Cardiff will lose and Villa will draw!!
