A very strange half of football.

Weird half. At times they looked in control without really being threatening, but in contrast we haven't controlled the game but have threatened every time we've gone forward! We could, maybe should, have had a 3rd, Donk who has otherwise been pretty good really should have done better.

Fabio for me has been the best of our attacking players, and has been very lively. I'd say as good a half as he's ever had for us, and dare I say it, as good a half as any Raul has had this season IMO. What I like about him is it is clear he has a good brain and has used the ball very well, something I think we have generally struggled with this season. The through ball that Trincao should have done better with was excellent.

Not often I listen to comms but these two are awful, particularly Oatley, constantly on the narrative that two goals isn't enough and Wolves will be desperate for the third to have any kind of sense of safety. Have a look how many one goal victories there have been, one capitulation against Leeds doesn't overpower that theme. Even from an artistic license perspective, trying to keep a bit of interest for the neutral kind of thing, it's such fucking nonsense.

Normally I'd agree, but our defence has been a bit leaky in recent weeks.

Strangest half of football I've seen in a long time. Rampant for 15, then Digne goes off and Bruno or leaders in the team decide we are going to sit deep, get overrun in the middle of the park and wobble. Just as a goal looks inevitable they give us a comedy OG. They are there to be taken on the break second half but not just by defending our area

Yep. Hope the 2 goal cushion doesn’t mean we just sit back. Go for the third etc

Thought he was going to regret his partial retreat, usually would've expected him to come rushing out trying to beat the forward to the ball there. Good decision in the end though, as you say got his position right and spread himself well.
