Next Manager chat.

Fosun plainly aren't stupid, but they're new to football and the way it works and I think still finding their feet,I honestly think this managerial appointment probably will go wrong, and we'll have another man in at the end of the season.
As Jimmy greaves used to say "it's a funny old game" and it seems to be a matter of luck and right man right time, take Jose moriniho, proven winner at Porto,Chelsea,Milan, struggling at United,he can't suddenly have lost his touch, their squad admittedly isn't as strong as previous years, but shouldn't be as bad as it seems to be, and on the other side of the coin,Roberto de Matteo failed everywhere, but won a European cup,so looking at that shouldn't he be on the list?
Splashing the cash is no guarantee either, look at pogba, but that could be down to the weight of expectation on him,or united squad again.

Lambert would not be a bad appointment in my view. Uninspiring, perhaps, but I'd not be unhappy.

Sherwood and Pearson have the combined IQ of a glass of water; the first has the manner and tactical aptitude of a village idiot, the latter appears to be a bona fide psychopath. No thanks.

I'm disappointed that we're not looking at people currently employed such as Rowett when we clearly have the money to go and get them and tempt them. Why are we limiting ourselves to people who have failed elsewhere?

Precisely

The IQ of a glass of water. Bloody love that phrase. Consider it stolen...

Lambert would be fine with me. The orimary intention is promotion and I think he could achieve it. I'm not sure he would take us any further when we are up though.

Managers can only take a team so far. Could anybody have done much better than he did at Norwich or Villa? I see no reason that given the style of football he played at Norwich that with reasonable backing he couldn’t do well for us in the PL.

Anyone have any thoughts on Darrell Clarke at Bristol Rovers? Two promotions so far...

Turned down Leeds in the summer.

He's got a good thing going here with serious backing so I'm not sure he'd easily be persuaded to leave.

Yeah, Rovers are owned by a seriously wealthy Jordanian banking family now and they seem as ambitious about getting them up the leagues as much as Fosun do with Wolves. I expect them to be in the Championship sooner rather than later.

#Wolves understood to have narrowed their search down to two - Paul Lambert and Nigel Pearson - after more talks. See tomorrow's Express.

Talks took place at Crewe Hall on Monday. Fosun keen to appoint before Sat. Thelwell believed to prefer NP but Fosun to be convinced.

If it's those 2 it's got to be Lambert. Pearson is a complete twat, I don't want him, or his pathetic hard man shit, anywhere near wolves.

If Darell Clarke is doing a good job and is worth looking at, but won't come, surely we should speak to Graham Alexander at Scunthorpe? DW was absolutely right to have him on his shortlist: just hope Thelwell has the same insight

Silva will be the next Inter manager now De Boer has been sacked, I should think.

Cant blame him for choosing Inter over Wolves, bad timing for us again. Back to Lambert again then :D

Pearson's transfer dealings in the summer should be enough to rule him out completely before his personality is even brought into it.

£12m on Anya and Vydra!

We'd also be stuck with 4-4-2 every week regardless of personnel.

You can look at our friend Chris Evans for that rather than Pearson

Tim 1 reckons a decision - not necessarily an announcement - could be made today.

Still scratching my head around the Lambert or Pearson rumours. If we really haven't looked further afield then I'd be extremely disappointed.

I'd rather they used the international break to interview some other names. No great rush to appoint as even if they do name someone before the weekend, they'd have minimal input on the Derby match.
