Wolves 0-3 Nottingham Forest: Verdict Thread

Lemina was a strange one.

You could see he was trying to make an impact, but it was like his brain and feet had been disconnected.

Someone referred to Tommy Doyle as a “expensive Jack Price” and i can’t work out if that’s harsh or fair.

All of his best performances have been off the bench when the game has slowed down and he has an extra half second to make a pass. Whenever he starts (particularly in a midfield two) we seem to be easy to play through and run past. He also seems to lose a lot of 50/50 challenges.

As TT said, he’ll play a big part if we go down, but whilst we’re a PL side, it should be nothing other than sub and cup appearances. Whether he’s happy with that or not, who knows.

Doyle's passing rotation of the ball is really good.
He lacks pace to be an all action player, he is ok in the tackle.

He would be ok as part of a 2 if its with André, or someone like him he needs someone to give him the time to play.

Tongue in cheek.
You’ll have to forgive me….but if it’s tongue in cheek, what point were you making? That Dolyle isn’t a back up player that can play a part in a premier league team or would be key next year if we went down?

He’d be OK as part of a 2 if he weren’t playing against the vast majority of teams in the Premier League, where the lack of time and space is simply the operating environment.

I liked Price as a player way more than Doyle, with the obvious caveat that we were at a lower level whilst Price was here.
