Loan Watch 2021-22

Doing it at that level isn't proof in itself he can do it at Wolves current level, most the highlights I've seen this season he wouldn't have got in a month of Sundays against Premier League defences.
Kid can't win it seems, continually written off as not good enough and told he needs to go to the Championship on loan to prove himself, rips up the division and still not showing enough!

Don't think I've ever said he needed to prove himself at a lower level, physically he doesn't look up to Premier League level for me and I don't think he's smart enough or technically superior to the extent he can overcome it.

Not similar. If Sheff Utd go up they are absolutely going to spend £20m for their provable POTS if that's what we want
That's only specific to Sheff Utd going up though, if they don't and someone else who comes up is interested then they won't have the same sentimentality to inflate the price.

...but that's the situation which is being discussed

A quick Thurs/ Fri update:

MGW played the full game and put in a beautiful assist for Sheff U's goal, as mentioned.
Jack Scott played the full game in a 1-0 win over Shamrock
Bolla, Kawabe, Jordao and Bonatini all started in a 2-1 defeat at home to Lugano. They were all subbed off though (Jordao and Leo at HT, Bolla and Kawabe after 75 mins) as the team struggled. Bolla played in a more advanced role down the right and forced a good save with a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area.

Can we recall Bolla and play him while Semedo is hurt?

Fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion but I have an entirely opposite view.

From the weekend:

Ryan Giles - Blackburn Rovers, The Championship

Played the full game in a 2-0 defeat at Fulham, and had a busy game despite the result. He almost scored after a fine 30-yard run, then he whipped in a mean cross which Blackburn scored from but had disallowed.

Morgan Gibbs-White - Sheffield United, The Championship

A full game once again in a 1-1 draw with Forest and put in a beautiful cross for Sharp to score from. That's the 5th goal he's set up for Sharp this season.

Luke Matheson - Scunthorpe, League Two

A return to the starting XI at right-back and a full game in a goalless draw at Crawley.

Lewis Richards - Harrogate Town, League Two

Played 76 minutes of a 2-1 defeat at home to Hartlepool. Might be a bit harsh to blame him for both, but the two goals came directly through him, especially the second in which he was bossed around by Omar Bogle.

Hayao Kawabe, Sang-Bin Jung, Bendeguz Bolla, & Leo Bonatini - Grasshoppers Zurich, Swiss Super League

Only Bolla and Kawabe kept their places from the previous game. Bolla played the full game and Kawabe scored one of Grasshopper's goals, a good finish from a tight angle, but they got beaten 4-2 at home to Servette.

Bonatini came on with 15 minutes left, while Sang-Bin replaced Kawabe late on to make his debut.

Goal on 3:10

Louie Moulden - Ebbsfleet, National League South

Played in a solid 2-0 win at Bath and didn't have much to do apparently.

Joe O'Shaughnessy - Hednesford Town, Northern League Premier Division Central (7th tier)

Played in a 2-0 defeat at home to Stratford where he got lobbed by Leroy Lita, which was unfortunate. Did make a good save from him earlier on though.

Joe Young - Matlock Town, Northern Premier League (7th tier)

Played in a 2-1 win over Gainsborough Trinity.

On as sub: Adama came on for the last 15 minutes in a 2-1 win at Elche and had one good bit of play where he beat his man and put a low cross in for Torres who shot straight at the keeper. Leo Campana came on for the second half with Miami 2-0 down at Austin, grabbed one back for them with a goal assisted by Gonzalo Higuain no less, but they went on to lose 5-1.

Goal on 2:20

Unused subs: Corbeanu, Cutrone, Lonwijk, Jordao

Not in squad: Sanderson, Ronan (suspended), Sondegaard,

No game: Scott. Smith.

Playing tonight: Dadashov

Absolutely got to be given a chance next season.

What position/role is he playing there?

If it’s a back three he’d be ideally to play behind the two forwards

if a back four, as an 8 in a flatter midfield three or a 10 in a 4231. Or even coming in off the right.

As well as the goals and assists, he speeds up attacks which is something we desperately need
