Wolves Loan Watch 2025/2026

Same applies for me as on the Stay or Go thread I created a few weeks ago. They can nearly all go for all I care, including those currently out on loan.

We will likely have a lot of new players, whether you trust Fosun, whichever Mendes Untergruppenführer he assigns our way, Matt Jackson and Rob Edwards to find a lot of good new players is another matter.

As he was recently bought for the very purpose of next season in the Championship, you'd think Armstrong is the only nailed on starter first game next season. Even if the likes of Mane and Rodrigo are still here, thats a big churn, I have very little confidence in our recruitment process.

Who knows if the 'PL in '27' line is flannel or not...based on recent Fosun behaviour you'd be right to be cynical in the extreme.

If we're reliant on more than a handful of the current squad we can definitely forget about anything more than making up the Champ numbers at best though

I don't know who would buy Santi Bueno, he is far too slow and weak to be a serious player. Being a bit better than he was in his first two years here is meaningless really.

Yeah, might get a loan to a Spanish team perhaps but no way are premier league teams trying to sign any of our defenders

Update from the last two weeks:

Sasa Kaladjzic - LASK, Austrian Bundesliga
First up, a big week for Sasa and LASK as his two goals help them move to within two points of leaders Sturm Graz.

Last week, he played the full game last weekend in a 4-1 win at home to Austria Wien. He got the fourth of a hectic first half, a fine header into the bottom corner. Could have had a hat-trick after another header bounced off the top of the bar and a later effort was cleared off the line.

Goal:

Played 81 minutes of a 3-2 win at RB Salzburg last Friday. Put his side 2-1 up with a neat first-time finish.

Fer Lopez - Celta Vigo, La Liga
Came on as a second-half sub to put Celta 2-1 up at Valencia with a well-taken left-foot finish into the top corner.

Also came on for the second half in the Europa League as Celta's qualification hopes hang by a thread in a 3-0 defeat at Freiburg. He then played the full game in a 3-0 defeat at home to Oviedo back in La Liga. Celta currently sit sixth in the league.

Marshall Munetsi - Paris FC (Ligue 1)

Last week, he played the full game as he got the equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Lorient, his fourth in six games. Won't win any prizes for beauty though after the keeper punched it off his head.

Goal:

This week, he played another full game in an impressive 4-1 win at home to Monaco, getting the assist for the second with a pass across the face of the goal.

Nigel Lonwijk - Luton Town (League 1)

Played the full game in a 2-1 win at home to Peterborough, but then sat out the following league game, a 3-0 win at AFC Wimbledon. Came on for the last few minutes to help see out Sunday's EFL Trophy win.

Nasser Djiga - Rangers (SPL)

Played full games in both a 4-2 win at home to Dundee last weekend, then in today's 6-3 win at Falkirk. Hardly a watertight defence, but they're now just 1 point behind Hearts.

Tommy Doyle - Birmingham City (Championship)
Played the full game in their Good Friday loss at home to Blackburn, then was an unused sub a couple of days later in another loss. Came on after 86 minutes in a 2-0 win at home to Wrexham on Sunday

Alfie Pond - Crewe Alexandra (League Two)

Played the full game in a 2-0 defeat at Accrington, then lost his place and came on for the last few mins of a 1-0 win at home to Salford. Was an unused sub for yesterday's 3-2 defeat at Grimsby.

Ojinnaka Temple - Shrewsbury Town (League Two)
Played 81 minutes of a 1-0 win at home to Tranmere, then just over an hour in a 2-1 defeat at Bromley. Was in defensive midfield for both games. Didn't make the squad for last weekend's game.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch (National League South)

Played in a 3-0 win at home to Dagenham, then shipped five in a 5-4 defeat at Maidstone, then won MOTM yesterday as he kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win vs Ebbsfleet.

Josh Gracey - AFC Telford (National League North)

Played in a pair of 2-1 defeats over Easter, away at Chester and at home to Kiddy, then a 3-2 win at P'boro Sports at the weekend.

Nasta seems to be doing well at Hornchurch - gets a lot of praise on Twitter.

Sasa had to go and get games. It’s only the last few months after their winter break he’s got going.

Certainly need to take a look next year, he has no resale value and we will probably be paying half his contract too so stupid not to.

I'd have him if we almost don't class him as a squad member. Sign as many forwards as required without him and treat anything he gives us as a bonus.

We haven't got the spine of a squad to build around. Heck, we barely have a player to build around.

Only really Costa, Saiss and maybe Cav were in the first team plans before preseason though. Probably misremembering but I don't think Costa actually ended up being that useful in 17/18 either.

Yeah I remember posting at the end of the Zenga/Lambert season that we wouldn't be able to challenge the year after. We didn't really have a good base to work from that Summer, it really seemed like we had too much to do. Feels the same this time so hopefully I'll be proven wrong again, signings of the quality of Boly, Neves and Jota seem more than unlikely now though.

He wasn't, never the same player again either here or anywhere else after that injury. Started the first game of the PL season though. Coady and Doherty ended the Lambert season as our full backs.

Oh, I totally agree. Only way this doesn't become a shit show or double relegation is if Redwards gets the boot day after the season ends and we bring in a proper DoF on the same day.
