Loan Watch 2021-22

From the weekend:

Adama Traore - Barcelona, La Liga
Played 75 minutes of a 4-0 win at home to Bilbao, following his double-assist showing on Thursday. Didn't play any part in the two goals he was on the pitch for.

Renat Dadashov - C.D. Tondela, Portuguese Primeira Liga
Played 83 mins in a 2-1 defeat at home to Famalicao. Had a volley from the edge of the area well saved, but then his replacement came on and scored the consolation goal.

Connor Ronan - St Mirren, SPL
Sent off after 22 mins in a 2-0 defeat to Hearts. Bit of a shocker the challenge: lost the ball then went in studs up on the lad's shin.

Leo Campana - Inter Miami, MLS
Played 66 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Chicago Fire. Was unlucky not to score with a header off the bar, then fluffed a good chance later on.

Jack Scott - St Patrick's Athletic, Irish Premier Division
90 minutes in 2-1 defeat at home to Sligo.

Bruno Jordao, Hayao Kawabe, Jeong Sang-Bin, Bendeguz Bolla, & Leo Bonatini - Grasshoppers Zurich, Swiss Super League
Bolla and Jordao both played the full game in a 2-0 defeat, while Kawabe came on after 32 minutes and Bonatini for the last half an hour.

Jackson Smith - Kettering Town, National League North

Played in a 3-2 defeat at home to Boston, where his team chucked away a 2-1 lead. Praised for making some good stops despite the defeat.

Andreas Sondergaard - Hereford, National League North
Conceded a penalty to lose at home to Southport 1-0.

Louie Moulden - Ebbsfleet, National League South
A clean sheet and a great save to help his team beat Eastbourne 2-0 and strengthen their bid for a play-off spot.

Joe O'Shaughnessy - Hednesford Town, Southern League Premier Division Central (7th tier)
Lost 1-0 at Rushden Anne Diamonds. Will be disappointed not to save the goal, a header that went straight through his arms.

Joe Young - Matlock Town, Northern Premier League (7th tier)
Drew at home with FC United of Manchester.

On as sub: Ryan Giles came on for the last 20 minutes in a huge 1-0 win over fellow promotion rivals QPR. MGW came on after 56 minutes but couldn't help his team avoid defeat at MIllwall

Unused subs: Richards, Cutrone, Lonwijk.

Not in squad: Sanderson (suspended), Corbeanu (illness), Matheson.

MGW has had am excellent 2nd half in this game. His assist was superb. I've not been his biggest fan in the past but I think we definitely need to have a look at him next season especially with a big transfer spend unlikely and us lacking a creative midfield player

Reviews here of Campana after week one:

Should score at least one of his chances, overall didn't impress. I'll try to keep a close eye on him as the season goes along.

To get the best out of him and others we need to change our style from the current defensive crap the manager wants.

He's clearly got the talent, just needs putting in the right system.

He's a talented footballer, and this year will have done his development the world of good. He'll come back in the summer a completely different player that left, and I can see Bruno liking him

As Jonhnny says, it will depend on how Lage sees us playing next season.
He is having a very good season for Blades (he was good at Swansea too, till Nuno bought him back for no reason at all).
He's playing in a position/system that suits him, playing against lower class opposition and playing for more than 10 minutes per game.
Hopefully he'll come back here next season, and we play a more progressive style, otherwise we may as well cash in.

Ditch both.
Would be madness to ditch MGW now, he's proved he has good ability and his temperament looks fine now.
If his style doesn't fit in with Lages future plans then by all means sell him but it would have to be for decent money.

I think the best thing for him would be Sheff Utd winning the play offs and then bidding £15-£20m. It's not what I'd want for Wolves, but I don't think we'll use him correctly and I think in that eventuality he'd want the move

Personally I'll be disappointed if he goes for less than 20m, given his background, current form and 'English' premium.
Ollie Watkins went to Villa for 28m, I'd like to think he's in the same ballpark.

Doing it at that level isn't proof in itself he can do it at Wolves current level, most the highlights I've seen this season he wouldn't have got in a month of Sundays against Premier League defences.

Olise and Eze both around £15m
