Loan Watch 2021-22

As the guy says it’s 10m plus 50 percent sell on fee. So a bit like the Ait Nouri deal

That's not how I read that, but if so then that makes more sense.

50% of total future sale fee rather than profit is a monster of a clause if he does well at Sporting.

Was going to say we now have £10m in the budget for the summer but guess that's the Hwang deal sorted...

... And an assist for the third goal by Billy Sharp

Clipped this off the BBC report but they described him as outstanding

"The hosts were relentless in the first half, going ahead when Morgan Gibbs-White calmly flicked home after Oliver Norwood's delightful clipped pass in behind.
George Baldock doubled the lead with an excellent arrowed volley off the underside of the bar from 12 yards and Gibbs-White then fed Billy Sharp, who lifted the ball over the sprawling Andy Fisher to put the Blades 3-0 up at the break.

Swansea offered nothing in attack and Sharp turned provider for Sheffield United's fourth, rolling the ball back for the outstanding Gibbs-White to side-foot into the far corner."

7 goals and 5 assists in 20 games

His second goal is clever, good vision and thinking to just pass that into the bottom corner like that.

Gibbs-White is 22 so next year is the key season really for if he is going to be a starter/squad player in and around the Wolves first team, always say it but 23 is the average age of a prem debut and last I looked the average age of outfield players had gone up slightly, it takes time and development to reach the levels needed to regularly compete in the Prem.

Does the average age include players coming from abroad? If so those players will have been playing at a good level prior to arriving in the PL. I think for homegrown players the average will be lower, and the ones that go on to make a successful career in the PL are likely to be playing regularly by 24 so as you say next year will be huge for MGW if he is at Wolves.

Yeah it does include that. Obviously it's just data, Cundle made his at 19 but how much of him may we see before he is 22? but it's more that knowing you may not get an established started till nearer that older age that is important.

I feel a decent case study is Jesus at Man City. He was signed in 2017 and just made it to 150 appearances, and it's only just this year that he has started to have games where you think 'okay he might actually be really good'. I think what a lot of us miss as fans is that training is actually a huge part in development. Playing games is great experience but it's where you play, not always where you improve, especially if the training you are getting mid-week isn't appropriate.

Last time I looked MGW was posting better numbers than grealish was when grealish was the same age in arguably a better side.

MGW isn't far off Harvey Barnes championship season, albeit Barnes was a year younger.

Yeah both great examples too.

If they go up, I think we'll flog him to them for £15-20m. He's clearly sick of being a bit part player and I don't think Bruno would give someone the free role that touch map suggests and won't give him the assurances he's looking for

I'd love to have him in the squad next season tbh, I think he's just the kind of midfielder we need, and absolutely has the potential to be worth his place
