Loan Watch 2021-22

Adama tearing it up for Barca to the surprise of… absolutely no one.

Suppose we need to hope he carries on so they definitely sign him and we get the money.

See the Live Match thread

Connor Ronan scored again at the weekend .

From the weekend:

Adama Traore - Barcelona, La Liga

A lively debut and very good assist in his 60-min display. Barca fans seem to like him, anyway.

Ryan Giles - Blackburn Rovers, The Championship

Played the full game in his debut at Swansea and popped up either side of a front three during the match. Whipped in 3 or 4 excellent crosses that could easily have ended up in the net, but for wasteful finishing.

Dion Sanderson - QPR, The Championship

Played the full game on the right of a back three in a cup defeat at Peterborough.

Theo Corbeanu - MK Dons, League One

Played 73 minutes of a 2-1 win over Lincoln. Played on the left of attack and his good run and blocked shot bounced up for a team mate to head in the first goal.

Connor Ronan - St Mirren, SPL

Dubbed the 'greatest in the world' in a new song by St Mirren fans. Bit of a stretch, but he did score a beauty in this game as his side won 1-0 at Hibs.

Goal around 3:25

Bruno Jordao, Hayao Kawabe, Bendeguz Bolla, & Leo Bonatini - Grasshoppers Zurich, Swiss Super League

The positive: Bolla plays the full game and gets an assist with a storming run down the right flank and a (deflected) cross in. Jordao plays for the first time in a while with a 15-min cameo. The negatives: Kawabe is subbed off just after giving away the second goal with an awful backpass. Grasshoppers lose a derby game 3-1.

Oh and Leo played for 65 minutes.

Jackson Smith - Kettering Town, National League North
Played in a 1-1 draw with Leamington.

Joe Young - Matlock Town, Northern Premier League (7th tier)

Played in a 1-0 defeat at home to Lancaster.

On as sub: Lonwijk came on for the last 15 minutes to shore up the defence in Sittard's 2-0 win.

Unused sub: Matheson, Cutrone

Not in squad: MGW, Richards, Sang-Bin, Vinagre, Sondegaard, JOS

No game: Campana, He, Scott, Moulden, Dadashov (playing tonight).

Matheson now can't get a game for the worst team in the football league. I wonder if he was properly scouted or signed based off a couple of headlines?

Not really. His old Rochdale manager not picking him says something has gone wrong

It would certainly look that way, a million pound gamble. I guess the chance it would come off was too much of a temptation.

I wonder what's gone on with him, either he's stalled in his development or he's not got his personal life in order.

Seems a very grounded and intelligent lad for what it's worth. Speculating here but maybe because football isn't all or nothing for him - he's well educated and a confident speaker even at a very young age - he doesn't quite have the drive. Who knows.

Wasn't he effectively part-time until the summer with him also staying in education? Or have I made that up?

It might explain a slower than average development.

Think he was getting his schooling in the afternoons, so may have missed some training.

We can afford to wait, he's not going to be on much money.
