Loan Watch 2019-2020

Evans loves us for some reason. Everytime we play against him he spends his time saying how great we are.

Scenes in the Scottish Cup tonight. Kilmarnock vs Aberdeen goes to extra time at 1-1, then madness ensues.

Killie go 3-2 ahead with a couple of minutes left, so they bring on Connor Johnson to help shore things up, but then give away two goals in two minutes; the first a penalty and the second a Johnson own goal to lose the game 4-3.

I think Telford may have been that lad's level.

Sanderson not in the squad again. What a waste of everyone's time.

Not normally these days, no (not that he'd be playing here, although he may as well train with us rather than Cardiff's hammer throwers and mutants)

I guess living away is a bit of life experience for the lad, but being out of the squad is an absolute waste.

Leicester switch to a back three...but decide to play Fuchs in there and put Morgan on the bench, so Benno doesn't make the squad.

The opposite of the small squad theory. Signing a CB in case you go 3 at the back AND get two injuries at the same time. We probably saved a couple of million and they’ve paid that instead.

Which is exactly why we shouldn't have loaned him in the first place, should have forced the sale.,

Not sure it makes too much difference in the end. Someone will still buy him, we will have got a fee and his wages covered for 6 months.

They were desperate to get a centre half over the line, I think we could have pushed them, rather than agreed an irrelevant clause that won't be triggered. Arsenal paid £5m for Cedric who isn't close to getting a game for them

Cedric is injured! Also only on loan. One of the great signings. Wonder if they asked themselves why he wasn't getting in Southampton's matchday squad and they were playing a central midfielder there.

Benno was always a strange move for me as he was never going to play that weekend having signed on the Friday, and then was ineligible for their next league game too. Oh well, it's their money. If they don't sign him then someone else will.

Neither Chilwell or TAA are very good defensively, it'll cost England in the Euro's.

From the weekend:

Luke Matheson - Rochdale, League One.

Started at home to Coventry and played the full game in a 2-1. Picked up a booking for a late challenge.

Start at home to Cov. 90 lost 2-1

Cameron John and Niall Ennis - Doncaster, League One.

Both started at Shrewsbury in a 1-0 loss. John got the full game and maybe should have dealt with his man who put the cross in for the winning goal. Ennis had a quiet game and was subbed on 73 mins.

Benny Ashley-Seal - Accrington Stanley, League One.

Played 80 minutes of a 2-1 loss at home to top-of-the-table Rotherham. Not much else to report.

Connor Ronan - Blackpool, League One

Played a full game at Wimbledon in a goalless draw. Did well to set up a team mate for an open goal but he somehow stepped over the ball and missed it.

Elliot Watt - Carlisle United, League Two.

Once again, his corner finds Aaron Hayden’s head. The two combined to get an equaliser in a 2-2 draw at home to Morecambe. Watt played the full game and also got booked.

Roderick Miranda - Famalicao, Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Played the full game in a 2-1 defeat at Pacos de Ferreira.

Leo Bonatini - Vitoria Guimaraes, Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Played 80 minutes of a 2-0 win at Aves. Played a key part in the build-up for the second and was unlucky not to score, smacking the post with a fierce right-foot shot.

On as sub: Patrick Cutrone came on with 35 minutes to go against his beloved Milan. Seemed pretty happy to win a penalty against them though, getting up and celebrating wildly. His team-mate scored it to level the game, and Fiorentina could have won it after , Wanutrone put a ball across the box which his colleague missed.
Jordan Graham came on for the last 10 minutes at Lincoln but couldn’t help break the deadlock there. Austin Samuels came on for the same amount of time for Kiddy, Rafa Mir was a 63rd minute sub in a 2-0 defeat and, for all those Christian Herc fans out there, he’s now involved in the Plzen squad, coming on with 15 mins to go in a 4-0 win.

Unused subs: Diallo, Norris, Giles, Samuels, Johnson

Not in squad: Bennett, Sanderson, Francis, Hanne, Wan, Wang.
