Loan Watch 2019-2020

Sent off on 72 minutes (didn't see what for, I'd long since turned it off as it was like watching a Lambert team vs a Hoddle team)

Not that he'll be officially ours for much longer but Cutrone was hooked at HT today, rarely seems to last much more than an hour.

Too early to draw a conclusion, but Sanderson didn't make the bench today. I'll be pissed off if he wastes the rest of the season not playing at that shite house of a club

Giles unused sub too. Odd one that, Ricketts clearly wanted him back but we've sent him to a place where they already have a LWB who's done so well that Norwich have signed him and loaned him straight back (bit of a left sided Matheson), so not really a weak area for them.

Rodders got a start today...lost 7-0 at home. Against a team containing Ola John.

Looks like Ronan had a cracking full debut for Blackpool and won MOTM

I’ve probably said this before, but Ronan is my biggest disappointment from Nuno’s time - really hoped he would have had, and taken, a chance to establish himself by now.

I'm hoping there's still time

It ain't happening in a midfield two and now we have four options for two wide spots you can probably say we aren't moving from 3-4-3 any time soon. He would have had a chance in last year's 3-5-2 but he wasn't here.

Lovely footballer but I don't see it now for us.

From the weekend:

Luke Matheson - Rochdale, League One.

Played the full game on the right-hand side of the defence, possibly wing back, in a 1-1 draw at Doncaster. Had a cross/shot that fizzed across goal. Tipped to play for England one day by Keith Hill.

Connor Ronan - Blackpool, League One.

Made his home debut vs Southend and scooped up the MOTM award in a 2-1 win.

Elliot Watt - Carlisle United, League Two.

Another full game at home to Swindon and it sounds like his set-pieces are becoming a real weapon, swinging in a corner for ex-Wolf Hayden to head home the equaliser.

Austin Samuels - Kidderminster Harriers, National League North.

Started a 2-0 win at KIngs Lynn. Subbed after 71 minutes, had a couple of shots saved but played no part in the goals.

Rafa Mir - SD Huesca, Spanish Segunda División

Started at Girona but got a straight red after throwing an elbow into the face of a defender in the second half.

Patrick Cutrone - Fiorentina, Serie A.

Started at home to Atalanta but was subbed at half time in the 2-1 defeat.

Connor Johnson - Kilmarnock, SPL.

Played the full game of a 0-0 draw in the cup at Aberdeen.

Roderick Miranda - Famalicao, Portuguese Primeira Liga

Part of a defence that conceded seven at home to Bonatini’s Vitoria, after a teammate was sent off in the first half. Directly gave away the third after getting caught in possession. Leo didn’t feature in the matchday squad though.

On as sub: Niall Ennis came on after an hour in Donny’s draw with Rochdale. Jordan Graham played the last 25 minutes on the right for Gillingham at Burton and made a positive impression even though it finished goalless.

Unused subs: Norris, Giles, John.

Not in squad: Sanderson, Samuels (injured), Bonatini, Wang.

No game: Bennett, Diallo, Ashley-Seal.

Sedge, as every season, stellar work mate. I always appreciate this thread!

Do we class Helder Costa as still being on loan? Leeds fans not happy at all that they're going to pay us £15m

Tough for them really. Leeds have no choice but to pay up.

It's a loan that really isnt a loan. A kind of buy now pay later agreement.

Cheers LJ :)

Yeah regarding Costa, I don't really see it as a loan seeing as he's going to become their player either way.

Not a criticism in any way, Sedgley. Like everyone else find this a really good thread. Just every time I see a Leeds fan they think they'd be overpaying at £1.5m never mind £15m

Not long back they were happy with him. Just part of being in a shit run of form as a club, seems he attracts the FFS crowd like he did here.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Leeds do what we did with Afobe and do a quick sale (especially if they fuck up promotion again)

No way they're making a profit though (we shouldn't have really, but Stoke are stupid)
