Wolves 2-2 Newcastle Utd: Verdict Thread

There was more good than bad even if results weren’t going our way. All whilst still having to familiarise himself with the players and little time to get his ideas accross in a tough set of fixtures. I don’t feel those good moments would have happened if the players weren’t buying in and he was out of his depth.
I'll preface this by saying that I still think Lop is a bit of an asshat and I'm not sad that he's no longer here.

Given the truly spectacular way the club made a mess of the summer, I think it's decently understandable that a lot of folks were either already at or damn near close to the end of their ropes when GO was installed. And when you have that little patience left in the bank, you're not going to (or are much less likely to) accept a deposit by way of moral victory, IMV.

And back to the main topic. I’m confused following all this. Bevs trousers was WS? Bev trousers has been a while causing trouble?

And where does Pogo fit in with this. And where is Pogo??

I think Waggy is still on this forum, and nobody has found his alter ego yet.
Come on sleuths, go get him.😂

Not really. Just we now know he was an alt for WS. And all he did for months - even before WS got banned - was play that passive-aggressive "laugh/shush" emoji game but never post, as only knobheads do. It doesn't bother me, post as many emojis as you like. But I do notice.

Then came on moaning about the climate of the forum.

A forum he got banned from for calling someone a "spastic" and refused to back down when given the chance.

And offered people out on here.

So yeah, great guy, top guy.

I want to know who Bev is and the backstory of her trousers in all honesty

Strange behaviour.

Thought he had something to offer when he wasn’t being a dick, so a shame he had to go that way.

These are the bits I just don’t understand though. I thought there were plenty of signs for optimism. Man United was good, Brighton was good that first half until the second which wasn’t in the slightest down to the manager, Everton we won despite being shit, Liverpool was more good than bad, Palace wasn’t that bad.

At the time, I and many others felt the performance at OT owed more to Lop's preparation than GO given that he had only been gone a few days and GO had taken only 1, possibly 2 training sessions. Then for a while performances got worse and it seemed the further we got away from Lopetegui the worse it would get culminating in the Luton game which was dogshit.

Things changed with the City performance which was excellent and night and day compared to the Luton game and its been pretty good since so chapeau to GO.

We will see over the coming months how things pan out and reserve the right to change opinions accordingly

Average positions for last night
Few notable things:

* The gap between Kilman and Dawson
* How close Toti and RAN were to one another.
* How central Hwang was, so far from the LW he has been playing.
* Cunha and Neto were effectively a front 2.

1) the gap between the 2 was due to Wilson going wider and Dawson following him closely.
2) Toti was close to RAN as Trippier pushed RAN deep (and vice versa when we had the ball
3) Hwang's job was to stop the ball from the centre backs into Guimares. He was very effective at it and it was obviously a well worked plan. Why it wasn't Cunha but Hwang was odd but it meant Hwang was rubbish as he can't play as a lone striker.
4) Cunha and Neto certainly weren't a pair up front. Neto dropped deep into the right wing behind Semedo a lot of the time when we moved the ball slowly on that side. Neto spent a lot of time as an inside forward when the ball over the top was on. I'm guessing that's where the average position has come from.

Cunha was tucked in on the left/ central with RAN pushed up when we had the ball. It exploited the Trippier/ Lascelles weakness which was the ball from Pope to feet.

I thought our tactics were spot on last night and we'd have won with Neto on the pitch for the whole 90.

It was very noticeable that Dawson was tight man to man on Wilson for most of the game. A number of times Wilson came deep for the ball and Dawson was right up his backside every time.
