Wolves 0-1 Arsenal: Verdict Thread

Silva will always be the worst for everything he represents, but it's a circular argument, so no point taking it further
Monetary wise you won’t get a worse signing than Silva. Madness.

There are some that will rival on ability during Fosuns time, but ofcourse when we signed him we were technically a top 7 premier league team

I know it's a tricky run of fixtures, and he doesn't have loads of options, but we need to see what VP has about him now, and some idea of what his Wolves identity (that he was banging on about from day one) actually is.

At the moment it just looks a bit more structured/less chaotic than GON, but with a chunk of our goal threat removed

This is what managed decline looks like. Basically we're the WH Smiths of football. Metaphorical empty shelves and overpriced crap that no-one in their right mind will pay for.

We're a coin flip of a relegation team, as Ipswich have more spirit but less talent than us. If we finish 17th then they'll pat themselves on the back about how selling one of our best players and our pear-shaped shit captain and not replacing them didn't hurt us materially, and how those £750+ season tickets were worth it.

If we finish 18th, well. There's another story.
as it stands it’s this season or next season. When not if

He absolutely is.

Fabio was ridiculous, especially in the context of us selling Jota for £9m more in the same window, but at least you'd got the unknown there and a stellar youth record. I doubt it personally but there's a case for saying we'll get something back for him in the summer.

Guedes was fully formed when we got him, an absolute shitehawk for years everywhere else, doesn't care, doesn't try, doesn't want to be here (we knew this in advance too), had been turned down multiple times by a manager with a CV that ran for more than half a page, and has crippled us on PSR for years. Goes on loan, is awful, they don't want him. Will leave for free, he is a dreadful footballer. I fucking despise him with every fibre of my being and when Bear says "he came on too late" it makes me fucking angry.
As usual your views are already so negatively entrenched you can't allow yourself to give him any credit since he came back into the team. You'll happily ignore anything good he does and go in two footed for every tiny thing he does wrong.

He's done plenty of things right this season and plenty of stuff that is shite, yet he's been more effective than all our other wide right forwards. That's hardly a revelation though. The difference is I'm willing to give credit and recognise what he might bring to the team instead of blindly rehashing old opinions and the history of his signing which is irrelevant to his recent performances.

I'm not gonna argue any further with you as it's ultimately pointless as you'll never even agree to disagree. I'm just bored of you constantly putting down anyone that has a different opinion to you or having the temerity to mention him in any kind of positive light. It's the kind of thing that puts people off posting, and certainly puts me off engaging in any kind of debate with you.

£27m on Guedes when he's nearly 26 is way worse.

Plus you know why he's here and Fabio isn't? Because Guedes is so bad that no-one even wants him on loan for about 20% of his wages.

Well you sit there in your Guedes Super Fan Club if you like, but it's a pretty lonely place as I'm fairly sure most people agree with me.

Incidentally I post about 10% about as much as I used to these days. I'll happily make that 0% if you carry on talking to me like that.

Agbadou was good. Like him. I thought we were alright in that first half, with the obvious caveats with regards to individual ability. Very disappointing second half.
He was excellent today, baring some poor passes in the first half his general play was really very good. Fair play to him.

I must have missed the good chances to score. And is our identity now just being a bit shit?
Sarabia, RAN and Cunha had good chances to score.

Can't agree with a lot else VP says though, 3 of their corners were headed away by Hwang as they were shit corners, not because of how we were defending them.

More deflective hyperbole. No-one is in a super-fan club. There's a middle ground that you'll never see as you're so deep in your negative trench.
The middle ground on a forward who cost £27m two and a half years ago and has scored 3 league goals is pretty barren ground.

He has fewer Premier League goals than Fabio Silva and the same amount as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who both get well deserved stick.

Don't fucking have a go at me mate, I'm really not in the mood.

I would say they were "good" chances. Our xG was 0.58.
Sarabia chance was the toughest of the 3, but still a decent chance. A volley from the edge of the box when unmarked.

RAN is one on one with the keeper, and Cunha has a free shot at goal on his strongest foot about 8 yards out that he puts wide? Not sure how they are not good chances?!
