Wolves 0-1 Arsenal: Verdict Thread

Back the team or sell the club got a decent clear airing in the first half. In true Billy Wright fashion we endorsed with a round of applause, the verbal equivalent of a strongly worded letter.

I only watched the second half, but I was surprised that during the second half, the coach went with a defensive lineup against a team that was down a player.

That killed the game. It's due to the lack of confidence the players and coaching staff have in the team's defensive system. The fact that, even with one extra player, you weren't able to deliver balls into the box shows why Larsen struggles so much to score goals.

Since we're nearing the end of January, I'll be posting a general perspective on the team soon.

Snatched defeat from the jaws of (potential) victory.

That’s on VP for me. He needed to make changes around the 65 minute mark, bring Gomes off as it was just a matter of time. Easy to say in hindsight, but how many of us here were thinking the same? He snaps in to tackles and he’s a walking yellow.

We needed fresh legs on up front, get Sarabia off for Gomes,R. Not Guedes.

Agbadou was outstanding. Strong, quick – won everything in the air. Santi cannot jump. The guy simply cannot jump – it’s like he has lead in his boots. Bizarre.

Really frustrating, I’d have took a point.

We’re done. A club full of joke shop cowardly players. Only Agbadou comes out with any credit at all. The rest can get fucked.

A front three of Cunha, Guedes and Gomes would have been better as it offers pace and energy. Hwang deserved to come off for being his usual self.

You know we've all watched Guedes? He isn't quick FFS.

Arguing whether Guedes is better than Sarabia sums this season up
It's not an argument, Guedes is the worst signing in the entire 148 year history of the club. It's one person pretending he offers pace and energy when he offers neither.

He's not the worst under Fosun
He absolutely is.

Fabio was ridiculous, especially in the context of us selling Jota for £9m more in the same window, but at least you'd got the unknown there and a stellar youth record. I doubt it personally but there's a case for saying we'll get something back for him in the summer.

Guedes was fully formed when we got him, an absolute shitehawk for years everywhere else, doesn't care, doesn't try, doesn't want to be here (we knew this in advance too), had been turned down multiple times by a manager with a CV that ran for more than half a page, and has crippled us on PSR for years. Goes on loan, is awful, they don't want him. Will leave for free, he is a dreadful footballer. I fucking despise him with every fibre of my being and when Bear says "he came on too late" it makes me fucking angry.

I would counter that by saying that those there (singing songs about Jeff Shi or not) happily swallowed yet another ridiculous price increase, and they've got your money now, so who really is making the protest exactly?

I popped out earlier to get some milk and walked past a Dad and his lad walking to the game. Not for a second did I feel sad or regretful that I wasn't going to the game.

No, me neither happy to pick and choose, I'll go against Fulham because the price is acceptable, but they've lost me as an every game fan and doubt they'll get me back. That said, there does appear to be anger around the current situation, but I'm guessing in reality social media isn't a good barometer so we'll go down passively on and off the pitch

Silva will always be the worst for everything he represents, but it's a circular argument, so no point taking it further

Didn’t watch the game as was pickleballing. Since seen the highlights.

Thought Sarabia should do better with that chance to go 1 up

Good save from Sa from Havertz, but he should be burying that.

Their red is never a red. Madness

Cunha should do better with his chance

Gomes should be arguably a straight red. Not helped by a stupid ball by Cunha but on a booking, don’t dive in.

Wasn’t many highlights to watch so probably says it all
