Crystal Palace 1-0 Wolves: The Verdict

I hope Rob succeeds, he's a likeable guy, but if he persists in playing Tchatchoua then he can get gone and we'll give that Portuguese fella a go. Literally play *anyone* else, I don't care who. I mean, what does it say about Doherty and Lima that they don't get a game ahead of that walking bomb scare? Just play some kid from the academy if you need to.

Palace were poor, but we'll always find a way to lose these games. That's our identity this season. Rubbish players try to compensate and f**k things up. If we don't fix it for next season then we'll be 'enjoying' another of our long stays in the Championship.
Mate, we all hope Rob (or anyone) succeds but we've seen no evidence to suggest he has any clue, I was hopeful he might be good enough in the Championship but that hope is disappearing fast.

BTW the ref who was a bit hit and miss is the same bloke we had at Everton in January.
He was an absolute disgrace that evening. Seems a bit home crowd pleaser unless it’s unavoidable.

Closes that discussion then:
On Krejci’s red card
“He’s got to learn there. At that moment he’s frustrated but can’t do it. He’d been booked a few moments before, so he knows. He’s been brilliant for us, but that cost us. I can’t defend it. I want to say he’s been really good for us, and was really good in the game, but that moment changed the momentum completely.
“It was a mistake. It can happen, but it shouldn’t. In that moment, you’ve got to try to stay cool and collected and not give the referee a decision to make. We were right in the game at that moment, and I felt we were pushing. The crowd was sort of on the edge, and they were looking a bit nervy. It gave them the encouragement that they needed and with an extra man it was difficult to continue to play the way we were.”

He's been quite deft at deflecting criticism. The owners, the fans, the players.

I'm sorry, I think he's a fucking bellend.

I'm guessing this is from Edwards, I'm paying no attention to his opinion after today.
Whatever the rights or wrongs, its done now.
I'd decided to stop paying attention to sports after todays game and yesterdays rugby.
My lads just said we're going to the FA cup game ffs.

Don't disagree with your point, but surely on this occasion if he's deflecting he goes after the ref rather than the player? It's the easiest manager play they've got, he hasn't because he knows it's stupid.

He's a simple man.

He's blamed Krejci because he hasn't the capacity to identify the root cause of today's loss

Fair play to them and it's obviously horrible that this has happened.

Where was this after half of the South Bank directed homophobic abuse at Chelsea fans a few weeks ago though?
Got to keep quiet on that in the hope the FA/PL didn't notice and wont fine us

This is from the Guardian match report and explains why anyone expecting him gone in the summer will be very disappointed.

"For Rob Edwards, there was plenty to be proud of despite his side failing to secure the point they needed to match Derby’s 2008 record low tally after Tolu Arokodare’s penalty was saved in the first half. That unwanted record will surely be avoided given the improvements they have made since Edwards’s appointment."

He won't go, we've invested in him.

I'm not impressed but we SHOULD have more or less an entirely new squad. This lot need to go.

Yep, that's the media and casual fan narrative now
