The Video Games Thread II - The Resurrection

Bollocks, ain't going to happen today. The missus has got me a wireless dongle for Christmas, she stopped me going to get one after work this morning.

Silver membership is fine for buying DLC. You'll need to add Microsoft points using a credit card but other than that you should have no problem.

I take it you have one of the old white Arcade 360's then Boozy? All the newer ones come with wireless built in.

So even if I've paid for the DLC (like the special edition Batman game I bought) you still have to buy points? Like paying for it twice?

Yeah, I did look at geting a new one but my old one is imacculate and I just couldn't see the point of selling it at a massive loss just to fork out loads more for wireless in a new one when I can get a dongle for £30.

Bit of a n00b spasmoid question, but I'm deep into Batman Arkham City (best game ever) and I have some downloadable content for it. I've never connected my Xbox to the net and don't know if I can be bothered, so I wondered if there's any way I can download the extras onto my PC, put them on a USB stick then plug that into the Xbox? The game does say 'searching for downloadable content' when you first turn it on, so I wondered if this was a possibility?

None at all. It has to come from Xbox Live marketplace or when they decide to bring out the game of the year edition..

If you get the DLC with the game then you just need to follow whatever intructions you get with the game. Probably a code.

Hahahaha the reason you've beat me on the Ipad one is I havent played ot for a bit ;/

Anyone play Tiger Woods games. ?

I play the ps3 version. Really good. Is the iPad version any good? I got FIFA last year and didn't really enjoy it and it's put me off buying sports based games on there.

Same with FM2011 it's just not as good as the full version!

Tiger Woods is very good on the iphone/ipad.

The Closest to the Pin challenge is good......well not for Quirk as at of about 50 of them he was won 1

Skyrim: great stuff, I'm loving it. Found some gem that one of the Miscellaneous Quests said I needed to get appraised, wandered over half the map to get to Riften, following the indicator, got there, spoke to some bloke who buggered off before I got to ask him about the bloody gem! Arse. But Riften offers up a lot of quests so that's good! I'm finding some of the fights quite tough as I haven't levelled up much- got my archery up a fair bit and my one-handed skill, but I can't make up my mind which type of magic to work on, and I haven't really figured out the enchantment or the alchemy stuff at all! Not really bothering too much with the main quests, I'm messing around with a lot of the miscellaneous ones and have started to do the Companions quests. Any tips?

Got the game on Saturday and basically spent 4 hours looking confused at the game. Sure I will get into soon though

It is confusing. There's almost TOO much to get your head around. It is brilliant though.

How long have you played for Toon?

Didn't get online at all over the weekend.

Should be on tonight though. It's more tempting to go on Skyrim than MW3....,

I was on it for most of Friday night and almost all day yesterday!! Not sure how long altogether but it's a lot since I only got the game on Friday! Too much to be good for me, I'm sure!

This sounds ominous - getting a Kinect X-Box and Skyrim off the portly chap who likes to wear red (well, my dad but the effect is much the same) in a couple of weeks. I reckon I might be a touch immersed in that game.

Very happy - life has been empty since the red ring of death on the old machine
