The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2024/25

I'll call this right now and get your money on it. Clement will get the sack at Rangers and EEEEEERRRRRMMMMM Course will be straight in at Ibrox.

Not in the frame apparently
Ah ok. Been teasing Mrs Lupo for a while now that Gaz formerly of this parish would take over when Warne left but he's not in those odds at all. Can't see him (GO) taking a Championship job as he will consider himself Premier League level

Return of a hero, maybe

Deal pretty much done, just don't know who. Not GON or Gerrard unless I'm being lied to

I never fancied Warne to do well there, the fans never liked his football and he was shite at this level for Rotherham too.

The return of "if he was chocolate, he'd eat himself" Russell Martin?

Reckon Russell Martin or Rob Edwards are strong possibilities

It'd be a strange move at this point of the season as Warne was agricultural, so you're moving from that to possession for possessions sake

Blackburn are appointing Valerien Ismael. He can grind out results but looks a weird choice to me as Blackburn's forwards were much better with the ball played to feet. He is one of the ultimate direct managers.

Looks like Gareth Ainsworth is jumping from Shrewsbury to Gillingham. Not really a step down as Shrews are doomed to L2 anyway.

Seems Shrewsbury were in some kind of talks for a takeover but it isn't happening now. Not sure they're ever getting any kind of sizeable investment - with how sparse Shropshire is in terms of population and most people into football there will follow us or Villa - either just because we're the two nearest and biggest clubs, or they/their family are Black Country/Birmingham people who've moved out west for whatever reason - there isn't anything to tap into. Same reason Telford never get anywhere despite on the face of it being a big town with no Football League team.
