The Video Games Thread II - The Resurrection

So Toon/Nando/Mark...let me guess...

You loaded the game....you thought you would just have an hour or maybe two to see what it's like.
You played for four hours - then decided you needed to work/eat/run...

Whilst you were doing those other activities you were thinking about Skyrim.
So you got back and played a bit more.

It's Friday at 10pm - you're playing it now.

Tonight you will dream about it.

Only Man Utd Vs Wolves will drag you away from it this weekend......

It's not been delivered yet.

As long as no-one took the money out after you walked away, then the machine will have sucked it back in and you won't have lost it.

The chances of that are slim as a Big Issue bloke was conveniently stood beside me.

Xbox tag is Bonjers27.

I bought Skyrim (For the PC), played it for half an hour, got motion sickness, couldn't find the guy I was supposed to follow after jumping from the keep, turned it off - hoping I can do better today! Apparently you can go 3rd person view, which gets rid of the motion sickness, but it wasn;t working yesterday. :(

Is the 3rd person view an option on every platform? I'd definately go for that over 1st person.

Yes it is. Click the right stick on Xbox. I do switch between 1st and 3rd person views, usually 3rd person for the running around exploring and 1st person for the combat.

I'd guess its the same sort of thing to swap it over on PS3, cheers. Hopefully it'll turn up on monday so i can give it a try.

Bit of a n00b spasmoid question, but I'm deep into Batman Arkham City (best game ever) and I have some downloadable content for it. I've never connected my Xbox to the net and don't know if I can be bothered, so I wondered if there's any way I can download the extras onto my PC, put them on a USB stick then plug that into the Xbox? The game does say 'searching for downloadable content' when you first turn it on, so I wondered if this was a possibility?

I also have Skyrim coming for Christmas.

I don't think you can, Boozy. You just need to connect it to t'interweb.

Bollocks. I have to get one of those wireless dongle things then. Then pay for Xbox Live. Just for some bloody extra levels.

You can connect with an Ethernet cable. They're less than a fiver on ebay.

As for XBL - I'm not 100% sure about this, but can't Silver members (i.e the service) download DLC they've paid for?

So it might only cost you the price of an ethernet cable.

I made myself a 10m ethernet cable at the old place I worked at as they were really expensive at the time for one that length, but I've moved the Xbox upstairs now and my router's downstairs so I'm going to have to go the wireless route. I'll have to look into the XBL memberships too, Silver may do (I have no idea what that includes) as I don't intend to play online at all, just download content if/when it's available.

I have a 10m ethernet cable - it's neatly secured to the skirting board and goes from the far end of my lounge, up the stairs to the wireless router so you really don't need to fork out the £40 or so for a connector.

Silver is basically the standard that costs nothing extra, but I'm not sure if that allows you to pay for any additional content.
