The Race to be Relegated with Wolves, 24/25 Thread

Apparently Liam was suggesting last night that Fosun are reluctant to get rid of O'Neil as they fear him going to another PL team and smashing it (what, like he did after Bournemouth?) and remain convinced that he's the next big thing

It’s a face saving project the utter buffoonery of offering someone a 4 year contract on the basis we did well from September-February is not a well thought out process.
They’re hoping that come May they can say told you so but we all know it’ll be us saying it to them.

Burnley and Forest at home in that run was utterly wretched football too.

You know, if all available evidence suggested that I didn't know best, I probably wouldn't keep suggesting that in fact I do know best. But you do you, Jeff.

I'm not even rabidly anti-O'Neil. He probably isn't good enough but he's not the real villain of the piece and I've seen far worse Wolves managers. But how the fuck could you think at this stage that he might come back to haunt us if we made what is by any reasonable estimation, a fair enough call to move on?

Maybe the "come back to haunt us" is a reference to Nuno . . . you fucking twat Shi.

Jeff - maybe ask Bournemouth fans how getting rid of GON ended up for them……

And they were doing a fuck lot better than we are.

Oddly a year ago their fans were questioning the new boss after a proper Wolves of a start to the season under him.
He must have been mighty close to getting binned.

(This is not and should not be seen as an endorsement to the thinking of Jeff Shi, just a reflection on how odd football can be at times)

3pts from his first 9 games was indeed a terrible start. 6 from 10.

Hobbs's hero would need to beat Brighton away and Palace at home to better that.

First win on the 10th game?

Wasn't just the results though, some terrible performances thrown in and their fans were properly worried.

I'm fully in the GO out to save our season queue and if LL is correct then we are more screwed than I thought. The Bournemouth bit is more of a year ago their fans were in a similar position to us and wondering what the fook their owners were doing....i don't think GO will turn it around like they did though.

GoN was 4 from 6 last season before City rocked up.

Funnily enough he played 4atb for those first 6 and we got spanked as badly as we have this season bar the very friendly Everton win as Dyche was being a bit shit.

Maybe City won't turn up Sunday and GoN's 5atb wins the day again.

Excuse me whilst I film a squadron of flying pork...

Much as I believe they don't want to sack him, 0 wins from the next 4 games would leave them with no choice. The atmosphere against Southampton will be feral if that were the case and the venom will get closer and closer to Shi. No way he'd survive that, if nothing else because Shi is thin skinned.

Get humped by City and I think it may start then. All aimed at Shi as they've already put the press release out saying they're backing GoN.

Two from three out of us/Ipswich/Leicester to join Southampton seems fair enough based on what's happened so far.

Although Palace can't carry on in "they'll improve at some point surely" mode for too much longer.
