The Race to be Relegated with Wolves, 24/25 Thread

First win on the 10th game?

Wasn't just the results though, some terrible performances thrown in and their fans were properly worried.

I'm fully in the GO out to save our season queue and if LL is correct then we are more screwed than I thought. The Bournemouth bit is more of a year ago their fans were in a similar position to us and wondering what the fook their owners were doing....i don't think GO will turn it around like they did though.
They properly took to Iraola’s system after Christmas. IIRC their underlying numbers for the last half of the season were genuinely quite impressive, certainly good enough to be comfortably top half over the course of 38 on that form.

First half looked like Solbakken vibes; players constantly confused and out of position but without the tactical confidence to stretch in those moments. Funny old game, but notable that Iraola clicked after six months whereas that is when the wheels fell off for Gary here.

In a vacuum I’d be taking Andoni for sure between the two of them.

Today was a bad day for us, we only look 3 points from safety but I think Palace will have enough to move away. After that I envisage West Ham, Bournemouth and Brentford being more than comfortable. Leicester & Everton are being gutsy and picking up points on a regular basis.
Our survival is pretty much going to come down to us hitting the ground running in November.
Fact is it shouldn’t be this bad coming away from Newcastle and Villa games with a point was very likely with not long left. A draw v Chelsea and Brentford was also doable but we defensively were of amateur levels. It would have us on 5 points, not great but able to get ourselves out of trouble plus confidence wouldn’t have been destroyed.
It was incompetent to give GON a 4 year deal in July it’s current wilfully negligent to keep persisting with him.

We are getting to the point of getting cut adrift if we lose the next 2 games, I'm fed up of GON and his constant whinging.

Time to man up!

You can look at football on paper over and over again and come to the simplest of conclusions that our board and some fans have.
On paper our squad is probably better than at least 3 sides ✔️
Good efforts v Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and Villa will mean good results v Saints, Palace etc ✔️
Reality of the situation regardless of playing staff quality poor coaching and low confidence produced lower than expected performances ❌
Defeat is defeat regardless of opponent and each one damages confidence ❌
160 years of football tells you plain and simple that good efforts v good sides doesn’t translate to points v lesser sides. Different approaches from lesser sides for example ❌

Log off, watch some tele, have a beer, walk the dog or whatever. Not being a dick, just from what you've said before you don't need to wallow.

We’re done, no coming back from this. Just let it happen, accept it and go and think about something else and enjoy the weekend. It really does feel extremely liberating.
Kind regards,

Jeff Shi.

Thankfully, I'm working tomorrow so don't have to witness the car crash performance unfold against City tomorrow. I can pretend the game isn't even happening.

*The fact that I am unable to watch the game has proven to be a necessary requirement of a good result for Wolves in the past, so there is a smidgen of hope for the rest of you...

We're off the bottom of the table on goals scored.
Southampton have slipped below us.
The resurgence starts here. :)

Unfortunately it's not just 20th that gets you relegated

Unconscious bias maybe actively being corrupt is just nonsense. Why would they pick on us in particular?

Since the inception of premier league all it has proved is the cooruption is fucking rigiculous

Us and Southampton are terrible but they’re worst.
There games have been against
Newcastle
Forest
Brentford
Man utd
Ipswich
Bournemouth
Arsenal
Leicester

I think we’d be on bit more than 1 point v those opposition.
Unfortunately 3 go down so it’s finding another 2 worst than us.
