I am going to ask a question now. Why was the penalty shoot out at Anfield held in front of the Kop?
Isn't there a toss to decide at which end the penalties take place?
Have I read/heard somewhere that the referee can insist on a certain end however for safety reasons, or if an end is empty?
A toss of a coin used to decide which end the penalty shoot out would take place from. However this was changed sometime ago, whereby the referee would decide which end they would be taken from. The reason I asked the question is because at the other end, there was a split with supporters of both teams in that stand. So I wondered why the referee chose the Kop end?
:icon_lol: That's glorious! ......Frank?
I am not sure that the referee association would approve of a referee assaulting players......!!
Loved how he casually showed the red to the two guys in white sheets just standing in the technical area. Also loved the ref's kick when the assistant was shielding him trying to calm things.
The next time Joey Barton aims a tirade of abuse at the referee, I wonder if the referee will re-act like that....
