Wouldn't mind Rowett at all, probably not an option but if it was then i would seriously be looking at him. He was on fantasy football earlier and he talks sense and you can see he's got it in him especially if he had more at his disposal than he does at Blues.

As I said earlier on the thread I know from a decent source he had informal talks with Derby in the Summer, but they went for Pearson. Since then Blues are Top 6 and have been taken over so he may not be open to leaving any more, but it's definitely where I'd start

The Blues takeover doesn't really change the landscape much, the new owners have been in de facto charge for a long time, the spending power is still extremely limited.

My main concern with Rowett would be that he tends to play quite reactive football, it's pretty light on possession and actually taking the initiative in games, I don't think we're anything like set up for that. Maybe he'd be different with a much higher budget etc.

We were good at St Andrews in August but they looked very poor indeed, in all the times I've watched Blues since he's been there you can admire the organisation and getting much more out of the squad(s) than should be the case given the quality on offer, but they aren't very good to watch.

If we win the next two games it will lift the pressure off the board to make a permanent appointment quickly, and may lead to Edwards being in charge for the three games after as well.

There would still be time after 1st Dec. for a new man to come in and get used to the squad and be ready for the January window.

Of course the board may be already set on their replacement, or Edwards may not be as successful as we want him to be, but all scenarios are possible.

I think that is all fair, but at both Blues and Burton he's overachieved and got the best out of limited squads. At this stage I want a manager who knows how to make a side solid and set up correctly, Rowett would do that. I thought the way he turned them around from being hammered 8?0 to coming to us and getting a 00 was highly impressive. They concede few goals but their defence week in week out is Spector, Morrison, Grounds and Shotton. Would you want any of them? I wouldn't. With our squad I think he'd make a huge difference. I've said this many times before but a solid manager in this league like Bruce, Dyche, Colin and Rowett gets you so any points. Would he be the man for the PL, possibly not, but happy to get there and find out.

Sincerely hope that Rob Edwards does well in however many games he gets in charge - not just for the points, which are needed, but also for for him as he seems to be an intelligent & genuine individual.

Agree with Deutsch - can't see Fosun entrusting the club to an untried assistant coach for the long term whatever the results.

I completely fail to see why we wouldn't go for Rowett. After we've dobbed out £7m on Ivan paying £400k compo (or whatever) for Rowett is hardly going to break the bank. TT comments above are exactly right

I just think that Gary Rowett is the real deal and the better players at his disposal the more open game he will play. The blokes heading to the top, I hope its with Wolves.

Svennis.. Naah more Lagerbäck , did a good job with iceland

Zenga Sacked.

I just don't think we should go British at all.

You thinking Mexican? Miguel Herrera? Spectacular CV including a Gold Cup win and qualification to the WC knockouts. And his celebrations are second to none.

I don't want Allardyce. I doubt he'd have the enthusiasm that he would have had at one time.
Besides he'll be waiting in the wings for moyes to get the boot.

Big Sam not interested says he will wait till next year before considering management again. I'm sure that will make many of you happy.

So back to Lambert or Rowett if it has to be British...easy decision for me.

Doesn't need the money.

Pat Murphy is in a bad mood. He really doesn't like us, does he? :icon_lol:

What about Holloway for manager? He seems to have a real in-depth knowledge of the club :)
