Next Manager chat.

After taking some time to think about it, these are the six I'd want us to be looking at:

Dieter Hecking
Marco Silva
Michael O'Neill
Gary Rowett
Graham Alexander
Paul Clement

Silva for me, whether we can get him is another matter.

As I said the other day, if we go British I would like to see Nigel Clough given a chance.

Nixon reckons we've 'met with' Sherwood, fortunately he has a track record of just making shit up.

A lot of the core members of Derby's squad were signed by him and Burton look decent this year relative to their financial state compared with the rest of the division. My concern would be that I think he has a bit of a ceiling - and unlike Bruce, Allardyce, Mick etc it is probably one which falls short of where we want to be in this division let alone the one above.

I'd prefer sherwood to Pearson and most of the other British managers. Rowetts still my preference if we decide not to go for one of the Portuguese options, but sherwood has potential.

Wouldn't have Sherwood in my top 100 to be honest. He's a moron.

Why a moron? He had a good record with spurs, then did pretty well with villa before his sacking season. He's very arrogant but confident in his own ability without being a complete Nigel Pearson...

He had a 50% win record with spurs and 35% with villa... neither of those stats are bad.

Walter is still hurting from his latest Instagram post.

rawasawa I will carry in my hearth ❤️ the moments spent together. Thanks for everything #passion #moulineux #outofdarknesscomethlight #zengasbarmyarmy #wolvesaywe #wolverhampton #gutted #thestreghtofthewolfisinapack #onceawolfalwaysawolf

No tactics at all, the embodiment of a Proper Football Man, he doomed Villa last season, is on record as pinning the blame on foreign players (all of our best ones are foreign), inarticulate, chucks players under the bus all the time, ideas way above his station...I'd only put him a rung above Ince who in turn is only a rung above Saunders.

Some Blooze fans seem to think GR is too negative tactically if you
listen to local radio.
I reckon Dean Smith would have had us playing some nice football.

Had a text from my old man saying Lambert will be announced tomorrow. Never gets involved with gossip and what not so I don't know where he's heard it. Anyone else heard anything?

I would be absolutely staggered if that was the case. Absolutely staggered.

I would. Lambert of Norwich maybe. Since then he has been a dour busted flush.

I think it's too early for them to have interviewed candidates and make a decision so I doubt it.

That's the problem with all the British managers we're apparently looking at - they've all failed, and badly. Lambert at Norwich had a fantastic pass and move philosophy. At villa they were massively dull and ponderous.

Marcos silva has a fantastic record, if he's looking to get back into football, I'd be gutted if we didn't at least interview him.

Sherwood normally starts off well but once he needs to actually do coaching - tactics and all that boring stuff - he's clueless.

I'd much rather have Pearson or Lambert. And I don't want either of those.
