Loan Watch 2024/2025

It's the quality of where most of the goals were scored that puts the pin in his argument (such as it is).

15 goals in a season and a half across Belgium, Netherlands and Scotland, all playing for one of the top three clubs in each country, is fucking shit. Especially if you're trying to make a statement.

If we got linked with a forward who had scored 15 goals in one season (not one and a half seasons) in any one of those leagues I doubt many people would be getting too excited. Paul Gladon has Eredivisie goals, Hayao Kawabe has Jupiler Pro goals and Danny Armstrong has SPL goals.

PL record for Wolves is something like 1 goal every 6 games minutes wise. 0 in the last 14. That's not 14 bits of games that's all his appearances rolled up to 90 minutes.

His 4 PL goals also comprise a penalty and one where a clearance hit him and looped over the stranded keeper.

I can't believe anyone would try and defend his record. He was appalling for us last season when he had the chance to make the shirt his and followed that up by pissing off half of Glasgow and being a laughing stock for the other.

Him appearing to be a self obsessed bell-end doesn't help his cause either.

Weekend update:

Nigel Lonwijk was the only outfield loanee to start this week, playing in an impressive 4-0 win at Bolton.

Storer played in 2-2 draw at Coleshill as Darlaston kept up their decent start to the season.

On as sub: Fabio Silva made his first appearance for Las Palmas coming on after an hour but couldn't help with them avoid a defeat at home to Bilbao - had a good header tipped round the post. Hodge played the last 20 mins of Huddersfield's win, while Marvin Kaleta came on for the last half hour of Motherwell's 2-1 defeat at Aberdeen and started the move for the consolation goal with a smart pass down the right.

Unused sub: Chiquinho

Not in squad: Hoever (suspended), Bueno (injured), Chirewa (injured), Roberts, Fraser.

Chiquinho was an unused sub last night in Mallorca's win at home to Sociedad. Tyler Roberts was still out of Fylde's squad for their game.

He's fucking shit

Should've pied him off on a free and %future sale deal.
Totally agree.

I’ve said all along that I don’t actually think he’s a footballer. I think he’s a total fraud.

I stand by that. He’s honestly not even League 2 standard.

Weekend update.

Fabio Silva played the full game in a 2-1 defeat at Osasuna and had a fine left-footed finish ruled out for his team mate being offside in the build-up.

Nigel Lonwijk played the full game in a 3-1 defeat at home to Northampton. Started off in the centre where he got an unfortunate assist in a comedy own goal that saw his CB partner pass it into the net. Moved out to the left as the game went on. Joe Hodge came on for the last half hour but didn't contribute much.

Worth watching the goal here, 40 seconds in

Chem Campbell played his first full game in a 5-2 defeat at Notlob after making his debut last week playing an hour in a 1-0 defeat to Orient. Played RW and went on a mazy run in the first half but could only muster a weak shot straight at the keeper.

Hoever made his comeback from suspension to play 83 minutes of Auxerre's 3-2 loss at Montpellier. Played a nice part in the opener, playing a one-two down the wing before putting in a dangerous cross into the box that eventually found its way into the net.

Dexter Lembikisa made his debut for Yverdon at Lausanne, but lasted only 33 minutes before coming off, maybe as a tactical decision as they were already 2 down. They ended up losing 3-1.

Jimmy Storer played for Darlaston as they lost 2-1 home to Rushden.

On as sub: Marvin Kaleta came on after 51 minutes for Motherwell vs Dundee Utd in a 2-1 QF league cup win. Put in a great cross from the right which should have ended up in a goal but instead drifted wide.

Unused sub: Chiquinho.

Not in squad: Chirewa, Fraser, Roberts, Bueno,

A few bits and pieces from mid-week.

Nigel Lonwijk and Joe Hodge both played the full game in Huddersfield's 2-0 loss at home to Steve Bruce's Blackpool. NL let the striker get the wrong side of him for the first.

Fabio Silva started again for Las Palmas and played 75 minutes of a 1-1 draw at home to Betis. Ran onto a great through ball to put him one-on-one but fired it at the keeper, of course.

I listed Chiquinho as an unused sub last week but he actually came on for the last 15 minutes of Mallorca's 2-1 win at Betis. He whipped in a great corner from the right that led to a last-minute winner. He also played 15 mins of last night's 2-1 win at Valladolid.

Tyler Roberts came on for the last 25 minutes or so of Fylde's 2-1 defeat at home to Tamworth.

Never known a supposed centre forward be so bad 1 on 1.

Joe Mason was at least as bad. Old Jigsaw.

Of course he cost less than 10% of what we paid for Fabio, and he was still a rip off.
