Wait? England played yesterday? How did I manage to miss that?

Giving them a rest.

England subs

Walker

Dier
Townsend
Kane
Rooney
Alli
Rose
Barkley

Sturridge injured... :sick-gurney:

Bertrand has looked far more solid than Rose so far. We miss having the protection of Dier in front of the defence. Haven't seen lallana Henderson or Drinkwater really

England's midfield always look a man short.

Stones is having a good game. Not really set up to control the game in any way though. I'd like to see Barkley for Henderson or Drinkwater

Australia look tidy, without really being dangerous.
Back four looking good, interesting to see if this puts Bertrand and Stones ahead in the race for places.
Midfield not wonderful, I'd consider switching Drinkwater and Wilshere. Wilshere clearly wants to burst forward but when he does, Rogic has so much space in front of our defence. Not sure any of them are truly impressing so far.
Nice goal for Rashford, Sterling slightly better than last time.

Bertrand > Rose
Drinkwater > Henderson

Bertrand > Rose
Drinkwater > Henderson

Absolutely but I can image Hodgson starting both Rose and Henderson when neither are good enough. Bertrand is a much better player than Rose.

I'd like to see Barkley this half as Henderson doesn't belong on the pitch. Lallana having an average game too. Not sure if this tournament is just too soon for Rashford, he's got talent no doubt and it'll be interesting to see him in a year or two but he just isn't in the same league as Vardy and Kane at the moment.
