I'm not overly interested in the semantics of it (if it helps, Helder Costa was absolutely shit last night), I'm interested if in going forward, Adama Traore is going to be a useful player for us, given that we are clearly not at the level whereby we can accommodate someone who purely comes on for the last 20 minutes in very specific circumstances. I'm saying no.
Whether other players are also going to fail to step up to the mark is neither here nor there.
And yeah, I had a preconceived opinion of him, because I'd seen him play plenty, I didn't like him and I didn't want us to sign him. I didn't want us to sign him for the reasons that he's amply demonstrated, he isn't a very good footballer. If I think that in the first place then I'm not sure what anyone wants me to do, wipe my own memory? Leon Clarke got more stick, more quickly in his second spell than any regular £500k signing would have got, because 80%+ of people never wanted him back as he is shit.
ALL of the inside forwards have had terrible games (they've all had at least a couple of good games too). I don't think anyone gets singled out.
There is no way you can frame Adama as having a good game last night, he absolutely did not.
