John Oliver has 51% shareholding of European Mezzanine Systems which has a net worth approx 500k.

Perhaps we'll see plenty of mezzanine floors when the ground refurbishment is completed.

Just been on WM.

Could be done by the weekend, apparently. Laslett backed by Asian money. Ince will be involved at board level.

Hmm, hope it's another souness situation like last time...

From tim mk2, bound to happen now

Heard the same takeover rumour repeatedly over the past 24 hours but I'm told there's no truth to it whatsoever. #wwfc

Why would Ince be involved? he can fucking do one.

Would it be so bad, at least in theory?
Pros - surely this consortium's first task would be to sack Moxey, given Inces well known love for the man, thus uniting the fan base. Ince would also give us a genuine football man in the boardroom. Bob Laslett gives a genuine fans voice on the consortium. Presumably our financial situation would be transformed at least for a while, allowing us to compete for top Championship performers rather than hoping to find a cheaper option that's as good (or will do).
Cons - would Ince want to manage or interfere with team management? What would East Asian investors actually mean? The people who get involved in these things don't always understand much about football or even have genuine interest in improving the purchased club. How much money?

The above would depend on how much influence Ince would have - wouldn't trust him to run a whelk stall

Imo consortiums usually don't have too much in the way of spare money, they usually have to scrape the pennies together in order to buy in the first place.

People always talk about a "football person" on the board, but what does this even mean?! For all of Moxey's many faults, he has (according to wiki) a combined total of around 26 years involvement in football and he's also only 53, therefore over half his life he has been involved in football. It is my belief that someone cannot spend 26 years involved in football without at least accidently picking up a little bit of information about how the game is played!

Ince was a fine player but he has not been successful in managing and I'm unsure of what qualifies him to run a football club, even as a figure head?

Lost you at WM. Probably something Tonka told him last time he rang in after a match.

Not Ince - he'll be manager within 6 weeks. Just a fucking gazillionaire from somewhere with a hugely intelligent DofF in tow. Not much to ask...

[Do we know who is in charge of the search for a new owner ?

Surely like Villa did in January,we need Morgan to appoint a business aquisition specialist to find us a new owner.

Assuming Moxey is in charge of this process he is totally the wrong guy in my opinion - u need specialist people to do this

As DW mentioned yesterday (somewhere on the forum) I don't think we are actively looking but inviting people to enquire and doing that way. That's the way SJH did it and had Moxey look after it.

It took him 4 years for the sale to happen mind. All boils down to how quickly Morgan wants the club off his hands and who he wants to sell to. If he is going to sell to someone he can trust and will have the best interests of the club then it will probably be a long process. If he doesn't give 2 shits, then he can do what Villa have done and we as fans have to hope the stuff the Media dig up (as they are doing on Villa's new owner already) is bollocks.

Son just told me there are rumours circulating around Bob Laslett and a consortium? Just thought I would put it out there if others have heard anything.
