Wolves 2-0 Man Utd: Verdict Thread

I think Toti lost possession just once.

I can't deny he gives me kittens (it's the way he carries himself) but when you actually try and identify mistakes he makes, they are rare.
He certainly flies by the seat of his pants. I don't think he knows what he's gonna do when he gets on the ball. He's erratic and I don't think he's gonna get any better. He's good enough for the squad, but he's someone that needs replacing in the XI.

To be honest, he may have hung on because he realised that they dumped Nuno too early - should have let him sort things out…. He will be looking at Forest with envy this Christmas! So didn’t want to make the same mistake again after a good season for Gary last season…… just a thought…..
Forest and Nuno's good fortune just further accentuates what a poor job Jeff Shi(t) is doing.

Please Guo, fuck the speccy little weasel off.

I
Didn't Kightly score directly from a corner? Thinking about it, I think it was a free kick from out wide that went straight in - a bit like Moutinho at Bournemouth.
Was forest, at home, free kick. Seem to recall cooky getting a goal from a corner at home too.

He was genuinely very very good. As he was at Leicester once he stopped randomly booting it out of play under no pressure.

It shouldn't work but it is working.
Tis definitely the season to be jolly. Peace and goodwill to all men.

Paul Cook scored direct from a corner for us at Brighton around 1991. But before tonight, has anyone done it since for Wolves? I can't recall one off hand.

Paul Simpson Man City 2-2, admittedly more than a helping hand by Andy Dibble

He's appalling, genuinely don't know why anyone would say differently. He has heart, he gives his all, definitely not a player to hate, but as a PL starting footballer he's miles off
Didn't help the final 15-20 mins he had nothing left. Thought he had done his hamstring in when chasing Antony.

He will definitely be replaced from the starting 11 in Jan*

*or sent out on loan and no one else signed.

Thought it was pretty even early on but we finished the first half stronger. After the sending off we were conpletely in control for 30 minutes, probably should have killed it off.
Last 10 minutes were very nervy, we went from perfect game management to a bit panic stations, although thinking back don't think Sa had a proper save to make. He also dealt with the high balls very well.
Great tackle by Doyle, inch perfect and weighted pass by Cunha and a well taken calm finish by Hwang finished it off.
Good performances all over the field.
Toti was pretty good first half and his defending wasn't a problem second half but he's a bombscare on the ball, needs to keep it simple, passed a couple of simple chances to Utd and dithers too much before making his mind up, got caught in possession too often. All the defence did well, Bueno never troubled by Hoiland and it seems Docs problem all along has been him played out of position at RB, obviously a ball playing CB.
Guedes worked really hard, a different player to a year ago.
Great day.

From conceding 2-4 goals a game regularly to two clean sheets on the trot and 5 goals scored in two high pressure games is an achievement and the manager should get credit for a great initial bounce.

Definitely greater than the sum of our parts in defence for these games, but it worked and kudos to the players for stepping up too. Definitely a chink of light and a path towards staying up now if we use this momentum.

Looks much better then it did a couple of weeks ago!

I know we're lacking at the back but I always thought we could be better than we were showing. Santi always seems pretty steady to me.

Very much so re looking better.

TT's post "Are we staying up" had 74% saying we were doomed. I reckon now it would be well less than 50%.

It speaks volumes to the incompetence on how the club is being run that the simple change in manager from a clueless twat to a competent professional has seen a marked improvement in form, tactics and organisation.

I'm not getting too carried away but the future looks a little less bleak now.
