Very disappointing performance and nowhere near good enough again. We got given a gift with their red card but we did nothing to take advantage. We somehow managed to be worse afterwards than before and couldn't even create anything. Cunha has been absolute rubbish since his injury/suspension and so has everybody around him up front.

Moronic challenge from Joao Gomes but he probably should have been subbed before as he's a walking red card once he's booked for the first time.

VP needs to do something to improve us as we're barely threatening in games now.

After a reasonable first half, the second was cowardly. VP talks a good game about fight but the team lacks any of it. Beyond worrying. The lack of impetus in added time was remarkable.

10 shit players and Agbadou who can actually do what he's paid to do. The rest of them can fuck off.

Other than a very good performance from Agbadou and a decent spell up until Gomes's stupid sending off, there's really very few positives to take from that. Sure, Arsenal are a much better side than us but yet again, they didn't have to do much to come away with a win.

We look so toothless going forward, and I have absolutely no faith in the likes of Hwang, Bellegarde or Bueno to do anything worthwhile. They're shocking footballers.

We need leaders and we need players who are prepared to battle. We don't have those. We have awful defenders, misfiring attackers and a massive sense of defeatism.

The future does not look very bright.

I'd like to know what the game plan was for that second half? Seemed to be to hold on for a 0-0 and much as I'd have taken that point even at half time, you shouldn't play for it. Thought the Gomes 2nd yellow was when not if, he should have been subbed off beforehand, but can see why the manager looked at the bench and didn't. He has to change his system next week a 2 of Doyle and Andre will see us get battered assuming he sticks by his Lemina stance.

I can't even bring myself to be annoyed. I don't like the players, I don't really like the manager, and I don't like the people who run the club. The only reason I watch is 40 years of habit. They deserve to go down.
Dire Wolf's comment in the match day thread succinctly and brilliantly sums it all up so well.

It's now down to 3 from 4 (Southampton, Leicester, Ipswich and ourselves) who will go down, and I can't see anyone of those 4 breaking 30 points, so 17th place is surely going to be a record low for points.

Finding new ways to lose matches.
It was there for us at half time to get something out the game, diminished Arsenal down to 10 men.
I’ll say Arsenal managed the situation very well we just expected it to happen. Said at halftime I’d still take a point as I knew we’d manage the situation badly and do it proved to be.
That game just sums the club up at the moment, all drama, no substance, no intelligence no quality.
We lack leaders and players with any football intelligence.
The goals have dried up massively and we look like never scoring.
That’s 4 losses on the bounce now and possibly another 3 incoming with Villa, Liverpool and Bournemouth to come.
I love the club but utterly despise those representing it at the moment.
They deserve relegation big time, I won’t let it ruin my weekend or will I let the probable relegation get me down as said if it’s not this year it’ll be next year.

Plus point Agbadou's defending, his passing obviously leaves a bit to be desired but defending and tackling very assured.
Thing is he has to run round his right foot like a tennis player with no backhand running round a forehand. He’ll look better on the right.

Hwang and JRB are so poor, but they’ll never play themselves back into form as the crowd are understandably right on their case. They both managed to tackle themselves out of play today, remarkable.

No idea why the manager continues to think having your best defender so clearly out of position is preferable to any other feasible combination.

I think that might have killed off any hope I had left.

This is what managed decline looks like. Basically we're the WH Smiths of football. Metaphorical empty shelves and overpriced crap that no-one in their right mind will pay for.

We're a coin flip of a relegation team, as Ipswich have more spirit but less talent than us. If we finish 17th then they'll pat themselves on the back about how selling one of our best players and our pear-shaped shit captain and not replacing them didn't hurt us materially, and how those £750+ season tickets were worth it.

If we finish 18th, well. There's another story.

Guedes was bought on too late, and once Arsenal had already scored. Was never going to work as he needs space in behind.

We desperately need a CB and CM asap. Another wide right forward would be nice too..... Whittaker would have been a safe punt at £6m IMO.

Ipswich will get a result here and there due to better character, probably more motivation and manager they probably trust better.
It’ll be enough to save them above us probably. I’d be surprised if we get out of it.
Big problem is next 3 game I know you’ve got to target something in each game but I think we literally relying on Villa being knackered from a CL midweek game.
We’ve become a decent side in the middle 3rd of the pitch but become hopeless in both business 3rds great combo to have.
Each game that goes by I’m not sure what the plan is with VP.
