The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Even though I have lost two stone, I still seem to be generating the same gravitational pull as before?

I can report that my 3rd great grandaughter Ava May has arrived weighing in at 4lb 15oz. For some of the former MolMix posters on here, Ava May is Amy Lewis's first baby. Because of Amy's heart, the baby was delivered a month early by C Section.

1) Congrats
2) Fook off is that the Amy we did the fund raising for!! Amazing....beyond feeling really old right now (but not as old as Grandpa leeds) I am so happy for Amy.

Went through a spell where cooking was a real chore and unenjoyable. Pleased to say I'm happy being back in the kitchen 😃

After almost exactly 6 months of effort I have met my weight goal. I am now, finally, consistently at a healthy weight with a BMI below 25 - its probably the first time in my adult life. I've lost just over 25Kg in total (about 4 stones for the oldies).

Thanks to all of those on here who have provided advice & assistance / put up with me being miserable at times :)

Congratulations, I'm 2 stone in with 2 stone to go, what method did you use ?

"miserable at times" 😲

Combination of using 'MyFitnessPal' to count calories (staying around 1800 whenever possible) and exercise - started with cycling 20 to 30 mins a day, but am now alternating between cycling around one hour or running for 30 to 40 minutes per day. What worked really well for me was weighing myself every day - gave me good motivation.

If I'm honest most important thing was willpower - its actually fairly easy once you start, but need to keep going when you have a plateau week. I aimed for 1Kg lost per week, but didn't always achieve it - have to keep going in those cases rather than getting disheartened.

Challenge now is to keep it off!

Awesome stuff man. Getting out on the bike everyday takes some strong willpower. Kudos 💪

Well done Tredman.

I’m trying to do something similar at the moment - counting calories and hitting 10k steps a day. 2kg down in my first week which was a nice start and a similar amount to lose in total too!

I don't think I ever managed 2Kg in a week!

This is me since May:

That is some going, especially in the midst of two lockdowns where it's easier to stay at home.
Fair play.

Myself and the wife noticed the flab going back on so are back exercising for 30 mins a day. Yay, I hate it....
We've already had 3 active days of 30 mins exercise this week and we are going for a 10k walk tomorrow so that will be the first time in months we have had 4 active days.

That's the bit that gives me hope I can keep it off - I really enjoy the exercise. I go out 6 days a week first thing in the morning and if I can't I get really fed up.

Started a Garmin 10k plan this week which is excellent so far.
