Pleased I wasn't running a marathon today (aside from not having trained for one...) every step of my 5 miler was accompanied by an internal soundtrack of the new Cunha song, it got a bit wearing 🤣

I’ve just started to run 3 miles every Saturday morning. I have the upmost respect for those that have run a marathon but, seriously, 26 miles? Fuck that :ROFLMAO:

Having now gotten myself back up to 5km (semi regularly) I have decided the next best thing to do is sign up for the Nottingham half in September.

It's actually 10 years since my one and only time running it this year, so what better way to mark it by doing it again. Maybe this time I will actually train beforehand though and not just rely on my young naivety and stupidity to get me round like before. God I miss being 24.

My wife and kids volunteered at parkrun this morning so I got to run it on my own (previously I have ran it with my daughter). My PB running with Belle was 34.46 but today I ran it in 29.54. I wanted to be under 30 mins so I’m chuffed I was 6 seconds under!

My partner decided it would be a good idea to do a 'run every day in May' challenge. Sometimes it might only be 3-4k, sometimes 11-12k, but so far I'm managing it. I went from May last year to March this year really struggling with a succession of chest infections, colds, and injuries, so this is a big ramp up in terms of volume of exercise for me. I've gone from 2 or 3 runs per week (at best), to running every day. She on the other hand, is using it as a gentle kickstart to her New York Marathon training.

Well done lads, I couldn't run a mile at the moment let alone 26.
Not everyone likes to run or are comfortable with it .

Personally I find it great for a whole variety of reasons , and in fact walking would tick a lot of the same boxes .

Running isn't for everyone , but walking should be I would think .

At the midway point in my 'run every day in May' challenge, this is what I've managed. I'd like 1 or 2 longer runs in there, but my knees are starting to grumble and where I live is bastard hilly, so only want to do a longer one when I have chance to get to somewhere flat!Screenshot_20240516_191518_Samsung Health.jpg
