About the only thing they were selling for a pound then.

Whole concept of their store vanished in recent years. Just turned into a B&M type place with the wrong name.

Yeah it's a weird concept.
Poundland opened a new store in Newport a few years ago, 2 doors down from an established B & M, seemed bonkers to me.
Hope it keeps going though as another empty shop in the middle of the high street looks crap (not to mention the lost jobs of course)

Went to see Clive Myrie give a guest lecture earlier this week.
He was fascinating. Really engaging. Spoke movingly of his family, experiences that migrants have, history, mental health & so much more.
He also did a q&a, & someone tried to get cocky asking a question about Gaza & the BBC that he gave a phenomenally good answer to (& I hope the applause he got for this resonated with him).

Absolutely top notch. Love the fella!
