The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2014/15

I took my daughter in 2004, we've grown apart ever since :(

I didn't see much of us under Hoddle but I remember one TV game against Ipswich (I think) when we were awesome in the first half and Seol played amazingly. Shame that was a one off!

Antonio Conte appointed new manager of Italy.

2nd highest paid after Fabio Capello partly funded by Puma

Would be bad for Palace if he does, I might go put £5 on them going down.

Would be bad news but Palace won't be stupid with money again - if he can't work within then budget then so be it.

I can understand the reticence from Palace, he wasted absolutely tons at Stoke. Including £3m on our very own Nigerian Vieira.

Crystal Palace would be mad to let Pulis go, he worked wonders there last season.

Doesn't mean they should give him whatever he wants to spend.

How much did he spend on Dave Kitson, Seyi Olofinjana, Tuncay, Kenwyne Jones, Wilson Palacios and Jack Butland, and what exactly did they contribute?

Plus Michael Owen and his £70k a week wages.

Doesn't mean they should give him nothing to spend though either. He's not at Stoke anymore and you've got to trust your manager and give him money to spend, Palace would look a bit foolish if they told him he couldn't have money because he signed Olofinjana a few years ago.

The article suggests it's the structure he's unhappy with? So Iain Moody vetting his choices basically.

Maybe Pulis was in a bidding war for Shane Long and his chairman pulled the plug.

That would explain how the ridiculous figure of 12m was obtained then.

Their chairman was on FiveLive the other night and stated that they had agreed a fee of 10m for Siggurdson but the player didn't want to go there. I would imagine its similar to when we bid for the likes of Adam Johnson and a fee was agreed but we couldn't match personal terms.

To turn it around - if Mick McCarthy got Ipswich promoted, do you not think it would be prudent of their board to watch carefully how he spent the money? Especially on defenders. That man paid good money for Steven Mouyokolo and Ronald Zubar, you would not say "here is £20m for defenders, knock yourself out".

If you had 12million to buy the goals for survival next season which striker would you spend it on?

How much did we actually spend on those two?

Is £12m enough to get him? Thought i'd read somewhere that he had a strange staggered release clause, European competition is the key to his cut price and everyone else has to pay top dollar.
